IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.\n\nScope of Position:\nThis position will work with other team members to manage, modify, and develop computer systems required to manufacture optical fiber.\nThe position will also participate in or occasionally lead projects to meet the plant's objectives, drive cost reduction efforts and participate in capacity expansion efforts.\n\nDay to Day Responsibilities:\nAssist team of engineers to provide production support and troubleshooting for 24/7 manufacturing operation. Work with production associates, technicians, and engineers to ensure reliable equipment operation via automated control systems and user interfaces.\nSupport process and product optimization/improvement efforts.\nProvide training for engineers and/or production associates as needed for new processes, equipment, or control systems.\nParticipate in capital projects.\nSome after hours, on-call support may be needed.\n\nRequired Education & Experience:\nBachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science; or equivalent experience\n2+ years in a technical role or relevant experience\n\nRequired Skills:\nKnowledge in computer programming skills such as: VB, .net, C, Realtime systems or similar\n\nDesired Skills:\nAbility/experience integrating computers into manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and lower cost\nMS Windows, iFIX, EthernetIP I/O, Microsoft Office. Real time controls systems, experience with motion systems (desired but not required), SCADA\nExperience in production support in a manufacturing environment\nProblem-solving and debugging skills; ability to understand real needs behind operations and engineering requests\nAbility/experience troubleshooting simple low voltage electrical circuitry\n\nTravel Requirements & Work Hours:\nSome domestic and international travel may be required (0-10%)\nMonday-Friday 8AM - 5PM. Occasional off-hours on call\n\nThis position does not support immigration sponsorship.\n\nThe range for this position is $90,279.00 - $124,134.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
