Please note for Bay area-based candidates, this is a hybrid role with in-office expectations 2-3 days/week at our Morgan Hill, CA office to collaborate and stay connected.\r\nWhat You Will Do\r\nBuild, maintain and elevate Shopmonkey's data infrastructure, ensuring peak performance and dependability.\r\nDrive the decision-making process for the selection and implementation of data tools and technologies.\r\nDesign and refine data pipelines to ensure smooth and efficient data flow.\r\nManage the daily operations of the Shopmonkey platform, swiftly identifying and resolving data-related challenges.\r\nPartner with cross-functional teams to develop new data requirements and refine existing processes.\r\nProvide mentorship to junior engineers, supporting their growth and assisting with complex projects.\r\nContribute to ongoing platform improvements, ensuring a culture of continuous innovation.\r\nStay informed on industry trends and best practices in data infrastructure and cloud technologies.\r\nGuarantee consistent data delivery to customers and stakeholders, adhering to or surpassing service levels.\r\nMonitor and sustain the data infrastructure, covering areas such as recalls, message delivery, and reporting functions.\r\nWe Are Looking for People Who Have\r\n5+ years of data engineering experience and a Bachelor's Degree in STEM preferred (additional experience is also accepted in lieu of a degree).\r\nProven experience with Kubernetes and Cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred).\r\nStrong proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing and automation.\r\nExpertise in orchestration tools such as Airflow and Docker.\r\nUnderstanding of performance optimization and cost-effectiveness in data warehouses like Snowflake and ClickHouse.\r\nAbility to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.\r\nStrong problem-solving skills with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.\r\nExperience with additional orchestration tools such as Dogster or Meltano.\r\nKnowledge of DBT, particularly in setting up new projects.\r\nDemonstrated ability to build and maintain complex data pipelines and data flows.\r\nCompensation\r\nIn the United States, the range is typically a salary of $165,000 to $200,000 plus bonus, equity and benefits.
