It's become a community gathering place for dining, shopping, learning, celebrating and enjoying a great slice of homemade pie.\nGinger and Baker is proud to partner with local farmers, ranchers, food artisans and craftspeople to showcase the innovative, hardworking spirit that makes Northern Colorado so unique.\nDedicated to celebrating Fort Collins' history, community, creativity and pie.\nJOB SUMMARY It is the primary responsibility for the Baker to assist and support the bake shop operations, assuring the proper preparation of all baked items for our pie shop, Cafe, Cache restaurant, events/banquets and the day-to-day baking/pastry production.\nThis position is responsible for preparing/producing/baking breads, pies, pastries, cookies, and desserts according to standard recipes, in order to contribute to the overall guest satisfaction.\nSpecifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:\nCommunicate in a clear, open, honest, and timely manner.\nEnsure that everything you do is consistent with the mission of the company.\nExemplify a sense of urgency in the bakery.\nUnderstanding of bakery menu; descriptions, methods, ingredients, allergens.\nConsistently and accurately read recipes, scale ingredients, evaluate products and mise en place.\nProduce consistent high-quality production for a variety of bakery items according to recipes and techniques within production timelines.\nMust have an understanding of basic methods/techniques; doughs, pies, cookies, lamination, creaming, custards, meringues, and bread baking.\nAble to maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment with the understanding of pars, inventory and basic ordering within the operation.\nEnsure guest satisfaction, Team Member satisfaction and the development of cost-effective practices.\nKeeps spoilage/waste to a minimum by producing and utilizing proper quantities and rotating products.\nLines up baked products according to the needs of the particular outlet/function\nUtilize any and all leftovers into usable products\nEducation Requirements High School diploma or GED equivalent is required. An Associate's Degree in F&B and/or course certification from an accredited Culinary Institute is helpful.\nLicense/Permits Required State or Local Law may require a certificate upon completion of state-certified proper food handling certification.\nPrevious Experience Required 1-year experience in a high-volume/fine dining/Banquet/Pastry production kitchen, preferably in a hotel/resort environment is helpful.\nPhysical Requirements Must be able to work in a stationary position for long periods of times (up to 8 hours). Must be able to work and be flexible with all shifts, weekends, and holidays.\nMust be able to withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending, kneeling, lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 lbs. without restriction.\nMust be able to work in close quarters or small rooms and is occasionally exposed to hot, cold, wet and/or humid condition.
