The role will also support the adoption of AI-assisted development tools and practices to improve developer productivity, code quality, documentation, testing, and delivery efficiency.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nWhat You'll Be Doing:\n\nServe as the technical lead for an Agile team composed of developers, business analysts, and automation test engineers.\nProvide hands-on full stack development across the application lifecycle, including design, development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement.\nDrive the adoption of AI-assisted development tools, prompt templates, and software engineering practices to improve productivity, code quality, testing, documentation, and delivery efficiency.\nLead application design with a focus on performance, scalability, flexibility, security, maintainability, and alignment with enterprise architecture standards.\nDevelop, enhance, and maintain APIs, microservices, user interfaces, and backend services using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and related technologies.\nPromote continuous integration, automated testing, and frequent release practices to support Agile delivery.\nConduct code peer reviews and ensure adherence to Java coding standards, secure coding practices, and development best practices.\nWork closely with Business Analysts to refine user stories, clarify technical requirements, and support well-defined acceptance criteria.\nSupport backlog refinement to ensure user stories and defects are ready for sprint planning and aligned with the team’s Definition of Ready and Definition of Done.\nCollaborate with Solution Architects and Enterprise Architects to ensure team solutions align with the broader architectural roadmap and technical strategy.\nParticipate in retrospectives, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities to address technical issues and improve delivery outcomes.\nQualifications and Education:\n\nRequired Qualifications:\n\nBachelor’s degree and typically 10–15 years of related software development experience.\nStrong proficiency in Java, JEE, Spring, Spring Boot, and related enterprise application development technologies.\nProven experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.\nStrong proficiency with JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, Bootstrap, jQuery, DataTables, or similar front-end frameworks and libraries.\nExperience with JPA, Hibernate ORM, relational database design, and SQL.\nExperience integrating U.S. Web Design System, or USWDS, compliant components into Angular-based applications, including use of component libraries or Storybook.\nExperience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, GitHub Copilot Chat, or similar tools to support code generation, code completion, refactoring, documentation, and unit test generation.\nExperience with prompt engineering techniques, prompt templates, and effective use of AI tools within the software development lifecycle.\nAbility to evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated code to ensure correctness, maintainability, security, and alignment with coding standards.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nAvailability during core business hours of 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Eastern Time.\nAbility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.\nCompensation:\n\nThe proposed salary range for this role is $****** to $******* USD.
