You’ll work in a fast-paced and physically engaging environment where you will perform daily deliveries to commercial and residential customers.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nMust have a valid CDL drivers license and comply with all DOT and CDL regulations.\nMust be able to pass a drug screen.\nAbility to safely load, unload and move products and building materials by hand or by forklift in an efficient manner and in the customer's best interest.\nPerform daily pre- and post-trip safety inspections on all equipment and follow up with any deficits with the Store Manager.\nCommunicate with the store management as needed and follow instructions as required including but not limited to change in route, special requests and/or equipment problems.\nDemonstrate excellent customer service to our customers and co-workers.\nMaintain a clean working environment while keeping the vehicle free from debris.\nMaintain knowledge of geography and demographics of assigned area as well as contact persons at each store location.\nAdhere to gas credit card usage.\nOperate a spider truck and lift, box van, pickup truck or other assigned vehicle as well as a forklift in a safe and courteous manner while observing all state and local driving laws as well as company policies and procedures.\nInput or retrieve data from personal computer as needed.\nAssist on the lumber yard when not making deliveries. This includes loading and unloading customer vehicles and vendor delivery trucks, material stocking, yard maintenance, etc.\nRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities\nMust be trustworthy and possess a high level of integrity.\nAbility to work additional or flexible hours including weekends as requested or required.\nMust be able to persevere through tasks and challenges.\nPossess good time management and problem-solving skills.\nMust be Team and Customer Focused.\nMust participate in safety seminars including annual driver safety training, etc.\nGood verbal and written communication skills.\nAbility to prioritize and multitask.\nBasic computer knowledge skills preferred.\nSafely navigate driving conditions in adverse weather and navigate the assigned driving area in an efficient manner for product and material delivery.\nWork independently as well as a team member.\nPossess a valid in-state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record in accordance with company’s insurance carrier’s standards.\nPhysical Requirement:\nFrequently lift heavy items up to 100 pounds.\nSit for extended periods of time and bend, twist, squat in order to climb in and out of truck.\nJob responsibilities may change based on the needs of the business.\nWe are your local hardware store and we are a part of your community.
