Cardiac SonographerPosition SummaryReporting to the Director of Cardio/Pulmonary/Neurology and working under the direction of the physician team, the Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for performing a wide variety of diagnostic cardiovascular ultrasound procedures in an outpatient setting. This role requires a highly skilled and independent clinician who is committed to delivering exceptional patient care while producing high-quality diagnostic studies.The Cardiac Sonographer will perform echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, and bubble studies, seeing approximately nine patients per day in one-hour appointment slots. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, possesses strong technical expertise, and demonstrates excellent patient communication skills.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform and interpret 2D, M-Mode, and Doppler echocardiograms.Conduct stress echocardiograms and bubble studies.Administer IVs as required for diagnostic procedures.Assess patients throughout the imaging process and coordinate scheduling as appropriate.Accurately document patient information and testing results within the electronic medical record.Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to ensure quality patient outcomes.Maintain a comprehensive understanding of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, hemodynamics, and pathology.Educate patients on examination procedures and address questions or concerns.Adhere to all departmental, organizational, and regulatory standards.QualificationsRequiredCompletion of an accredited Cardiac Sonography or Ultrasound Program.Cardiac Sonography certificate program accredited by CAAHEP or equivalent.Minimum of two years of experience performing and interpreting 2D, M-Mode, and Doppler echocardiograms.Current RDCS or RCS certification required, or registry-eligible with certification obtained within six months of hire.Current BLS Healthcare Provider certification.Experience with IV insertion and administration.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency with medical terminology and computer systems.PreferredVascular Ultrasound experience.Experience utilizing EPIC and/or Meditech.Prior outpatient cardiology experience.ScheduleMonday through FridayNo weekends, holidays, or on-call requirementsFlexible scheduling options available:Four 10-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)Five 8-hour shifts (8:00 AM – 4:30/5:00 PM)What We OfferNewly updated lab with modern equipmentFree onsite parkingSupportive team of experienced physicians and clinical professionalsStructured onboarding, training, and EPIC educationOpportunity to work primarily independently in an outpatient settingExcellent work-life balance with no weekends or holidaysIf you are a dedicated Cardiac Sonographer seeking a collaborative outpatient environment with the autonomy to practice at the top of your skill set, we encourage you to apply.
