DescriptionJob Title: Distribution TechnicianDepartment: Focus: HOPE FoodReports To: Manager Food ProgramFLSA Status: Non-ExemptGeneral Statement Of DutiesPerforms duties under the supervision of the Manage/Supervisor of the Food Center/Central Warehouse. Responsible for unloading and loading trucks, cutting, and moving stock. Decisions are made within the limits of established practices, policies, and procedures with a supervisor available to handle unusual situations. Work with volunteers to provide direction and support during volunteer shifts.Major Duties And Responsibilities Load and unload freight from semi-trailers/trucks. Drive Hi-lo to move stock from storage to distribution area. Stock and replenish distribution area as needed. Build and stage packed food boxes at pick up areas. Assist in maintenance of building and grounds. Support and direct volunteers on stock replenishment, proper packing and staging procedures. Perform related duties as assigned. Assist participants with loading food boxes vehicles.Required Skills/Abilities Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software including Outlook. Ability to interact with others in a professional, polite, and courteous manner. Strong commitment to civil and human rights. Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others. Good knowledge of general warehouse duties Knowledge of proper lifting procedures. Certification for driving Hilo or ability to attain certification.
