In this role the intern will be working closely with team members to learn production processes and work closely with experts to create, development and implement training for our manufacturing workforce. This is an in-person opportunity (not remote) at our Perrysburg, Ohio facility.\n\nEducation/Experience:\n\nNo prior experience required.\n\nExperience developing and providing instructional based learning material would be preferred.\n\nPursuing a technical or educational degree in a STEM related field.\n\nFirst Solar encourages all interns to register their internship with their College or University.\n\nRequired Skills/Competencies:\n\nMust have good communication skills and comfortable interacting with others necessary to learn and teach.\n\nCompetent in Microsoft tools (word, excel, powerpoint), basic picture & video editing.\n\nEssential Responsibilities:\n\nGather information on the product & process necessary to create training material.\n\nDevelop powerpoint and video based training material.\n\nPrint and place material at the training workstations along with data entry on training plans and updates.\n\nTrain others as needed.\n\nSupport team in onboarding new associates, inclusive of leading plant tours.\n\nOther duties as assigned\n\nJob description subject to change at any time\n\nReporting Relationships:\n\nReports to Manager of Workforce Development\n\nWill be paired with a Workforce Development Specialists for day to day work guidance and support.\n\nThis position will not have direct reports.\n\nTravel:\n\nTravel between the Perrysburg plants is required.\n\nNo long distance travel is required.\n\nEstimated Salary Range:\n\n$22-$25/hr.\n\nHybrid Physical Requirements:\n\nWill sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift.\nWill climb stairs on an occasional basis.\nWill lift, push or pull up to 27 pounds on an occasional basis.\nRequired to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.\n20/40 vision in each eye, with or without correction, is required.\nMust be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.\nMay reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.\nMay stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis.\nAbility to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective jacket or apron and arm guards).\nAll associates working on the production floor may be required to wear a respirator at any given time and thus, the ability to wear a respirator is a condition of employment and continued employment (requires little or no facial hair).\n\nOffice Physical Requirements:\n\nAll positions in our office require interaction with people and technology while either standing or sitting. To best service our customers, internal and external, all associates must be able to communicate face-to-face and on the phone with or without reasonable accommodation.
