Are you ready for your career at CI?\nPosition Summary and Purpose: Set up and operate CNC 3 or 5 axis machining center using mills, drills, taps, slotters and boring bars to perform such machining operations as reaming, milling, drilling and boring and tapping. Select, set, calibrate and secure tools in tool holders to perform metal cutting operations. We have 2 Line` and 1 Doosan and are installing a brand new Doosan as well.\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nESSENTIAL:\nReceive work assignment, secure drawings, set-up sketch, programs, and tool list\nUse crane and lifting devices to place workpiece on machine table, rotary table, auxiliary table, floor plate and/or set-up fixtures making close measurements at multiple locations to level and align work. (may be difficult at times due to irregular shape of part)\nInstall program and appropriate tools. After engaging power, adjust coolant and observe entire operation, checking dimensions and adjusting as needed.\nReport program errors or malfunctions, edit programs as needed\nSet and utilize instruments to check tool settings for proper cutting dimensions, adjust settings as necessary.\nContinually check fixtures and holding devices for setups to assure proper working conditions. Store tools and maintain necessary tool records.\nPerform simple layout work when required, using templates or by calculations, measuring and marking surfaces for machining\nPerform very close machining operations such as drilling, boring, reaming, facing, milling, on parts such as shear housing, tables, rams, hold down beams, beds, brake housings, rams, beds, etc.\nMaintain a clean and orderly work area and perform all assignments in a safe manner and in accordance with established quality procedures\nEducation and Experience:\nREQUIRED:\nHigh School diploma or certificate of equivalency\n2 years prior machining center experience\nValued But Not Required:\nTechnical school certificate or degree\nProgramming skills\nKnowledge, Skills, Abilities, Characteristics, etc.\nREQUIRED:\nAbility to read and interpret prints with GD&T\nAbility to edit programs\nExcellent math skills\nAttention to detail\nCommitment to company Core Values\nValued But Not Required:\nProgramming experience\nTools, Technology and Equipment Used: CNC Machining Center, rotary table, remote overhead crane and hoist, various cutting tools, clamps, fixtures, lifters, tooling, tool setting instruments, micrometers, gauges, and measuring tools\nPhysical Demands and Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, reaching with hands and arms and climbing ladders. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance.\nThe employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
