Job Title: Installation TechnicianDepartment: TechnicianFLSA Status: Non-ExemptLocation: Based out of our office at 5310 Spectrum Dr. Ste C, Frederick, MD 21703We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Installation Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be trusted to deliver high-quality installation and repair services while ensuring an exceptional customer experience. You will take ownership of your work, apply your technical knowledge to get the job done right the first time, and follow all site protocols and safety standards.The ideal candidate is self-motivated, energetic, and adaptable, with strong problem-solving skills and a desire to learn new technologies. The standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; however, some evening, weekend, and on-call work may be required based on business needs.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesProvide installation and repair services to business customersServe as remote hands for NOC engineers during service activation and troubleshootingInstall, terminate, test, and repair Category 3, 5, and 5E premise wiring in accordance with TIA-568B standards (including RJ45 connectors, biscuit and wall jacks, 66/110 punch-down blocks)Install premise hardware including plywood backboards, conduit, structured cabling, patch panels, UPS, PDU, relay racks, data cabinets, and NEMA boxesInstall and configure network hardware including switches, routers, firewalls, IP phones, Analog Telephone Adapters, media converters, wireless access points, microwave radios, and dishesClimb and work on towers to install, replace, or maintain equipmentUtilize company software, hardware, and related systems effectivelyParticipate in a rotating on-call schedule as part of our 24/7 support modelPerform other duties as assignedPhysical RequirementsAbility to climb towers up to 300 feet while carrying up to 50 lbs., and up to 150 feet while carrying up to 70 lbsAbility to lift and carry up to 70 lbs. consistentlyAbility to stoop, kneel, crouch, and work in confined or elevated spaces for extended periodsAbility to distinguish between cable colorsQualificationsCurrent ComTrain (or equivalent) tower climbing certification, or ability to successfully complete ComTrain certification after hireExperience testing equipment such as power meters, cable toners, and laptopsStrong computer proficiencyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to manage tight deadlines and shifting prioritiesFlexibility to work evenings, weekends, and respond to standby/callout within 60 minutes when requiredMust pass a pre-employment background check, including a valid driver’s license and clear driving recordEducation & ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED required1–2 years of experience in the data/communications industry preferredIf you are a motivated technician who takes pride in delivering quality work and providing outstanding customer service, we encourage you to apply.
