They will be one of three operators on site providing both technical and operational support to plant operations personnel as well as interacting with the host landfill, regulatory agencies, and customers. Support provided by the Controls Operator will include review of plant operational efficiencies, plant controls/trend analysis, vender procurement, media and inventory management and providing general support for the RNG Plant Teams within EDLs North American Operations. The RNG Controls Operator will be responsible for achieving operational metrics for the facility.\nRole and Responsibilities\nOperation and Maintenance of a RNG (Renewable Natural Gas) plant consisting of gas compression, gas processing and filtration equipment; works with Landfill Gas (LFG) and pipeline quality RNG.\nComply with all workplace, federal, state and OSHA safety guidelines and obligations.\nPerform regular inspections and maintenance of fixed plant equipment, including rotating gas compressors, H2S gas scrubber, CO2 membranes, N2 removal PSA and other auxiliary equipment such as pumps, chillers, valves etc.\nAdministrative duties including documenting and reporting equipment maintenance, operation, and condition.\nPerform fault-finding, repairs and reporting of gas, electrical and mechanical systems.\nOperation of advanced instrumentation and process control systems.\nAvailable for on-call duties remaining within 45 minutes of the RNG plant during these hours.\nTasks, including readings, tuning, pump operation and maintenance, flaring operations and maintenance as needed.\nCarry out routine housekeeping duties.\nInterface with well field (LFG) operations and the local natural gas utility\nOther duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.\nQualifications and Experience\nCurrent driver’s license with a clean driving record.\nAbility to work weekends, holidays, and on-call hours.\nMaintenance, gas, mechanical or electrical experience and/or suitable background.\nBasic Computer operation including the use of Microsoft Word and Excel\nAbility to collect and interpret data and write clear, accurate reports and specifications.\nEffective communication skills both verbal and written.\nExperience with Gas or refrigeration equipment.\nExperience with LFG extraction and use systems and equipment.\nAnalytical and trouble shooting skills in either mechanical and/or electrical systems.\nAbility to perform minor repairs and overhaul mechanical & electrical equipment.\nFamiliarity with the operation of instrumentation and process control equipment and systems.\nAbility to work autonomously in a multi-skilled work environment.\nProficient in using computers, instrumentation, metering and/or monitoring equipment to measure, record and make adjustments within operating parameters.\nAdvanced electrical skills with the ability to fault find and carry out preventive maintenance on electrical equipment, such as PLC’s, Generators, High Voltage and or Control systems\nAdvanced mechanical skills with the ability to fault find and carry out preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment, including compressors, pumps and valving.\nFamiliarity with PLC’s, ladder Logic as well as troubleshooting and programming of these systems.\nPhysical Demands\nAbility to read, write, hear, and communicate adequately to complete job duties and responsibilities.\nMust be able to see adequately to complete job duties and responsibilities.\nThe work is physical in nature.
