Our mission is to empower the next generation of IT professionals by creating opportunities for leadership and career advancement.\n\nAs our Managed Services practice continues to grow, we’re looking for a Junior Network Engineer who has a strong networking foundation and is ready to continue building their skills across a variety of technologies, vendors, and client environments. This role is designed to provide a development path toward becoming a Senior Network Engineer as your technical skills, ownership, and experience continue to grow.\n\nWhat Does a Typical Day Look Like in This Role?\n\nAs a Junior Network Engineer, you will help support and maintain network infrastructure across our managed client environments. You’ll troubleshoot network issues, monitor performance, assist with changes and upgrades, and work with senior engineers as you continue developing your networking skills.\n\nYour responsibilities will include:\n\nTroubleshooting switching, routing, wireless, firewall, VPN, and connectivity issues.\nMonitoring network health, performance, and availability.\nAssisting with network changes, firmware upgrades, and scheduled maintenance.\nMaintaining accurate technical documentation.\nCollaborating with senior engineers, clients, and vendors.\n\nSchedule: This is primarily a daytime position, with regularly scheduled evening, overnight, and/or weekend maintenance as needed.\n\nWhat Qualifications or Experience Do I Need?\n\nFor this role, you should have hands-on experience in network engineering, network administration, or a similar networking-focused position. You should have a strong understanding of networking fundamentals and be comfortable troubleshooting real-world network issues.\n\nWe’re looking for someone who can demonstrate experience or working knowledge in areas including:\n\nSwitching and routing fundamentals.\nVLANs, STP, IPsec, HSRP/VRRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11 wireless, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, and QoS.\nOSI and TCP/IP models.\nEnterprise switches, routers, wireless infrastructure, and firewalls.\nNetwork troubleshooting involving connectivity, routing, switching, performance, and infrastructure issues.\nNetwork monitoring, diagnostic, configuration management, and traffic analysis tools.\nNetwork firmware and software upgrades.\nProduction network changes and maintenance activities.\nDeveloping and following implementation, testing, validation, and rollback procedures.\nMaintaining configuration backups and recovery procedures.\nCreating and maintaining technical documentation, procedures, and network diagrams.\n\nStrong troubleshooting and analytical skills are important, but communication is equally important. You’ll need to clearly document your work, communicate with clients and other engineers, manage multiple priorities, and know when an issue should be escalated.\n\nYou must also be comfortable working in an MSP environment where you may support multiple clients, network architectures, vendors, and management platforms rather than focusing on a single network environment.\n\nWhat Will Help You Stand Out?\n\nA Cisco CCNA or equivalent practical networking experience is strongly desired. A CCNP or equivalent advanced networking experience is a plus.\n\nAdditional experience that will help you stand out includes:\n\nCisco Catalyst switching.\nCisco Meraki.\nAruba networking technologies.\nSolarWinds.\nAruba Central.\nCisco Catalyst Center.\nMSP or multi-client networking environments.\nEnterprise, hospitality, or multi-site networks.\nLarge-scale firmware or network infrastructure upgrade projects.\nFormal incident, problem, configuration, and change management processes.\n\nMost importantly, we’re looking for someone who is humble, hungry, and people smart. You should be comfortable asking questions, learning from more senior engineers, sharing what you learn with others, and progressively taking ownership as your skills develop.\n\nTraining & Career Development\n\nThis position is specifically intended for an engineer who wants to continue developing their networking career.\n\nYou’ll have opportunities to train and cross-train across multiple networking technologies and vendor platforms, participate in knowledge transfer with Senior Network Engineers, and gain exposure to increasingly complex network environments.\n\nWe expect our engineers to document and share newly acquired knowledge, pursue relevant technical training and certifications, and continually expand their capabilities rather than becoming dependent on a single vendor or technology.\n\nAs you demonstrate technical competency, reliability, ownership, strong client communication, and the ability to independently manage increasingly complex environments, the goal is to provide a defined path toward a Senior Network Engineer position.\n\nSchedule & After-Hours Expectations\n\nThis is primarily a daytime position, with normal troubleshooting, monitoring, planning, testing, documentation, and engineering responsibilities performed during regular business hours.\n\nBecause network maintenance and production changes frequently need to occur outside normal business hours, you will also be expected to regularly participate in scheduled evening, overnight, and/or weekend maintenance activities.\n\nAfter-hours maintenance will generally be scheduled in advance, and engineers are expected to appropriately plan their workload around these activities. Critical vulnerabilities, zero-day remediation, or emergency network conditions may occasionally require work outside of normally scheduled maintenance windows.\n\nWhat Else Should You Know About Us?\n3 Weeks of Paid Time Off (vacation and sick time accrued, subject to manager approval).\nHealthcare Options with 75% of your premium covered.\nDental & Vision Services.\nGroup Life Insurance.\n401k with up to 4% matching and immediate vesting.\nAccess to industry training and certification reimbursement to support your continued growth.\n\nDevices that access company resources will need to be managed by us while being used for work purposes. A company computer and peripherals will be provided. You'll need a personal cell phone for multi-factor authentication and a reliable internet connection—we even provide a stipend for this.\n\nThanks for considering a position with us!\n\nIf you’re ready to build on your networking experience, work with a wide range of technologies, and grow toward a Senior Network Engineer role while helping us deliver exceptional service to our clients, apply today and let’s start a conversation.\n\nApplication Review Process Notice (Please Read)\n\nWe will reach out if your qualifications match the role.
