Full-time employees of Eastern Florida State College receive fringe benefits including health insurance and a retirement plan.\nPosition Concept\nWorks under the direction of the Planning and Construction Manager to facilitate various projects to completion. Monitors and inspects project plans, schedules, work hours, budgets, and expenditures, organizing and participating in construction meetings and ensuring that project deadlines are met in a timely manner. Assists with preparation of various specifications for projects. Organizes and coordinates the evaluation of shop drawings, submittals or other construction related documents to ensure compliance with set specifications and state mandated statutes.\nMinimum Qualifications\nThe following minimum qualifications for this position must be met before any applicant will be considered:\nHigh School diploma or GED.\nBachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution preferred.\nThree years’ experience in construction related field & three years’ experience in contractor oversight.\nKnowledge of construction techniques and standards.\nAbility to plan, organize and coordinate project schedules and work assignments.\nAbility to analyze and interpret engineering data.\nMust possess excellent oral and written communications skills.\nMust be able to communicate effectively with contractors and architects and engineers.\nKnowledge and use of computer software related to college supported systems accessing and inputting data.\nWorking knowledge of AutoCAD software\nValid Florida Motor Vehicle Operator’s license required.\nThis position will require successful fingerprinting and the candidate chosen will be required to pay the associated fee (currently $36.00).This fingerprinting fee ($36.00) is non-refundable.\nUnderstanding of and commitment to Equal Access/Equal Opportunity.\nOfficial transcripts of all collegiate work will be required to be considered beyond the application phase.*\nHigh School Diploma or GED or transcripts or official transcripts of all collegiate work (as appropriate for the position) must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Human Resources Office prior to the first day of employment.
