Using breakthrough chemistry and automation that operates continuously and generates little to no waste, ATP is expanding energetics production to meet the munitions demands of the US and Allies safely, rapidly, and cost effectively.SummaryATP is building a core team of engineers to develop the autonomous skidded production systems that will redefine how energetics are manufactured. As our Systems Engineer, you will own the integration point between chemistry, process, mechanical, and controls — defining requirements, architecting how subsystems fit together, and making sure the whole system works as one, not just as a collection of parts. The ideal candidate has previously owned systems-level integration on a real hardware program end-to-end and brings the discipline to engineer for safety in a hazardous-chemistry environment.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn systems engineering for ATP's modular energetics production plants, from requirements definition through integration, verification, and commissioningTranslate process and chemistry requirements into system-level architecture, interface definitions, and technical specificationsDefine and manage interfaces between mechanical, controls, process, and chemistry subsystems to ensure clean integrationLead requirements traceability, ensuring design decisions map back to functional, safety, and performance requirementsConduct system-level trade studies and risk analyses (FMEA, hazard analysis) across mechanical, electrical, and process domainsDevelop and maintain system architecture diagrams, interface control documents (ICDs), and technical baselinesCoordinate design reviews across engineering disciplines, identifying integration risks before they reach the buildSupport verification and validation planning, ensuring test coverage maps to system requirementsLead or support hands-on integration, commissioning, and factory/site acceptance testing across subsystemsDrive root cause analysis on system-level anomalies that span multiple engineering disciplinesCollaborate with Process, Chemistry, Mechanical, and Controls engineers to keep the full system on schedule and within scopeContribute to test plans, technical documentation, and engineering reviewsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline2+ years of professional experience in systems engineering, integration engineering, or a comparable cross-disciplinary technical roleDemonstrated experience owning systems-level integration end-to-end on real industrial or hardware programsStrong grasp of engineering fundamentals across mechanical, process, and controls domains, with the ability to reason across disciplinesExperience with requirements management, interface control, and technical documentation practicesAbility to work hands-on in laboratory, fabrication, and plant environmentsStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to work through ambiguity quickly and rigorouslyPreferred Qualifications5-10 years of relevant industry experienceExperience with systems engineering tools and methods (DOORS, MBSE, SysML, or equivalent)Background in continuous process systems, batch processes, or other hazardous-chemistry environmentsExperience integrating mechanical, controls, and process subsystems on a skidded or modular equipment programFamiliarity with safety and reliability standards (ISO 13849, IEC 61508, or similar)Experience in defense, aerospace, energetics, or other regulated manufacturing environmentsAdditional RequirementsAbility to lift 50 lbsU.S. Person and ability to obtain a security clearanceAbility to work on-site and travel as neededITAR RequirementsThis position requires access to information and technology protected under U.S. export control laws and regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
