The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection following established protocolsVerify patient identity using two identifiers and ensure accurate labeling of specimensPrepare patients for procedures, explain processes, and provide reassurance as neededProcess, handle, store, and transport specimens in accordance with safety and regulatory standardsMaintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) systemMaintain laboratory equipment, perform routine quality control, and report malfunctionsFollow infection control, Universal Precautions, and OSHA safety guidelinesCollaborate with providers and care team members to coordinate patient careMonitor inventory and notify appropriate staff of supply needsRespond to patient inquiries and support lab-related communication workflowsMaintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulationsPerform other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONSRequired Education, Experience, and/or Training:High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degreeMinimum one (1) year of experience in a medical settingCalifornia CPT I or CPT II licenseCurrent BLS certificationKnowledge of medical terminologyExperience with EMR systemsPreferred:Experience in outpatient/primary care settingBilingual English/SpanishExperience with eClinicalWorksTravel required or Special Conditions:* May be required to travel between clinic sites; must have reliable transportation if applicable* Subject to a criminal background check prior to employment;* Must possess and maintain a valid California Driver's License if travel between clinic sites is required.* Must have and maintain state required automobile insurance coverage; and* Must successfully complete pre-employment physical and TB screening requirements and maintain any required clearances in accordance with HarborCHC policy.EXPECTATIONSAdheres to all HarborCHC policies and procedures.Demonstrates HarborCHCs core values of Integrity, Compassion, and Excellence at all times.Maintains a strong commitment to the mission, policies, goals, and philosophy of HarborCHC.Maintains a positive and respectful attitude in all work-related interactions.Communicates regularly with their immediate supervisor regarding departmental and organizational matters.Reports to work consistently and prepared to perform the duties of the position.Meets productivity standards and performs duties as workload requires.Maintains strict confidentiality of all data and information.Demonstrates integrity and accountability in all duties and responsibilities.Performs all job functions in a professional and courteous manner, including responding to phone calls and emails in a timely manner.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThe physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
