Millwork Project Manager
David Nice Builders is seeking an experienced and hands-on Project Manager for our Millwork Division. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for complex custom millwork and fabrication projects, managing them from concept through completion. You will oversee planning, scheduling, procurement, shop drawings, production coordination, quality control, and shipping logistics to deliver high-quality products that meet exact customer specifications. This is a dynamic, multi-project role that requires strong technical knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining clear communication with clients, architects, engineers, and internal teams. You will be deeply involved in every phase of the project - from initial proposals and drawings to shop floor oversight and final delivery. Reporting to the Executive Vice President and Plant Operations Manager, this position offers the opportunity to lead premium millwork projects and play a key role in the continued growth of our division. Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the main liaison with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors throughout the entire project lifecycleManage full project execution - including planning, scheduling, procurement, fabrication, and shippingDevelop proposals, budgets, and timelines; track costs and ensure projects stay on budget and scheduleOversee the creation of accurate shop drawings in collaboration with CAD Design EngineersConduct site visits for field measurements and template creation when requiredManage long-lead items and specialty procurement to prevent delaysPerform regular quality inspections on the shop floor and ensure all work meets specifications and industry standardsCoordinate shipping and logistics, including hands-on support during loading when neededProactively identify risks, resolve issues, and implement corrective actionsMaintain accurate project documentation, change orders, and recordsParticipate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives What You Bring (Qualifications) Required:5+ years of project management experience in custom millwork, architectural woodworking, or fabricationStrong ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and engineering documentsExperience managing multiple concurrent projects, budgets, and schedulesProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and construction/project management softwareWorking knowledge of AutoCAD or similar design softwareExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management abilitiesValid driver's license and willingness to perform occasional site visits Preferred:Direct experience in custom millwork, casework, or architectural woodworkFamiliarity with Procore or similar platformsKnowledge of building codes and industry best practices Personal Traits: You are a dependable, detail-oriented team player with strong interpersonal skills and a proactive approach.
