In this role you will operate drilling equipment to complete assigned projects and complete drilling in both standard and high-risk areas; with live utilities.Why TAK?Full TimePaid WeeklyCompensation: $25 - $38 per hour, DOEFull Benefits Package (Medical, Dental & Vision)Paid Time Off401(k) with Company Match!25K Company Paid Life InsuranceIndependent Work & Team CollaborationCareer Development & Advancement Opportunities!The RoleProvide horizontal directional drill head location services for drill operatorOperate and interpret electronic locating equipment to guide drill operators along planned bore paths in standard and high-risk areas with live utilitiesRead and understand telecom utility staking sheets/prints and bore plansCoordinate with utility locators to ensure all utility locates for work are completeCommunicate bore depth, alignment, and steering corrections clearly to drill operatorIdentify and avoid conflicts with underground utilities through potholing, mapping and utility verificationSupport setup, monitoring and completion of bores and maintain accurate records of bore logs, as-builts and daily progress reporting.Maintain a working knowledge of utility depths and placementsEnsure vehicles, equipment and tools are properly maintained, in good repair and secured in a safe mannerReview field designs, communicating discrepancies to supervisor for change ordersAssist with duct, vault, pedestal and fiber placement as neededAssist with minor equipment troubleshooting and maintenanceComplete all projects with safety as the #1 priority, ensuring compliance with internal safety standards and 811 safe digging requirements.Other duties as assignedRequirements3+ years of directional drilling experience requiredStrong communication and coordination with managers, driller, support crews, and other team membersUnderstanding of drill mechanics, soil types, fluid mixtures and locator technologyAbility to travel and work outside of business hours when needed, overtime, etc., in all seasonsExcellent customer service, time management, problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsHigh level of energy, motivation and attention to detailAbility to multi-task, shifting from one task to another without interruptionAbility to work with a noise level from moderate to loudAbility to lift and carry up to 70lbs as neededAbility to complete work outdoors, in tight spaces or elevated by bending, reaching, twisting, climbing in all weather conditions year roundAbility to safely work and navigate various terrains, managing equipment, safety equipment and toolsMust provide a valid government-issued photo ID for verification; a driver’s license is required if the role involves driving; Class A CDL requiredPassing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)The compensation and benefits information is accurate as of the date of this posting.
