As a family of 14 regional businesses, we thrive on innovation and teamwork, empowering our people to shape the future of the electrical industry.\nWalters Wholesale Electric Company, an affiliate of USESI, is seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy HR Intern to join our team in Brea, CA.\nThis is a great opportunity for someone early in their HR career who enjoys working with systems, organizing information, and building efficient processes from the ground up.\nHours: Part-Time; In-Person\nKey Responsibilities:\nTrack and manage employee training completion using tools such as Excel, Microsoft Lists, or similar systems; follow up with employees and managers to ensure deadlines are met.\nSupport onboarding processes by organizing new hire documentation, maintaining checklists, and helping ensure a smooth and consistent experience for all new employees.\nAssist in building and maintaining tracking systems for HR processes, including training, onboarding, and compliance-related activities.\nHelp establish and improve HR workflows by identifying gaps, organizing manual processes, and recommending more efficient solutions.\nAudit and maintain HR records (I-9s, employee files, training records) to ensure accuracy and compliance with company and legal requirements.\nAssist in creating and updating process documentation, SOPs, and simple guides to support consistency across HR activities.\nProvide general administrative and project support to the HR team, with a focus on organization, data accuracy, and process improvement.\nSkills and Qualifications:\nCurrently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.\nStrong interest in HR operations, systems, and process improvement.\nComfortable working with data and tracking tools; intermediate Excel skills (sorting, filtering, basic formulas) required.\nExperience with Microsoft Lists, Power Automate, or similar tools is strongly preferred.\nHighly organized with strong attention to detail, especially when managing multiple trackers and deadlines.\nAbility to follow structured processes while also identifying opportunities to improve them.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to manage multiple tasks and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.\nProfessional, proactive, and eager to learn with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.\nBenefits:\nAt Walters, we believe that our benefits should make a difference—to you, your job, and the life you lead outside of work.
