DRW is a place of high expectations, integrity, innovation and a willingness to challenge consensus.\r\nAs an Application Support Engineer on the Unified Platform Support team, you'll be part of a tight knit and expanding team of support analysts at a top tier proprietary trading firm. You will be working hand in glove with developers providing sophisticated research and compliance tools to the users across the firm. This role will likely appeal to technically minded members of support teams who want the freedom to dig deeper into issues and the code.\r\nFor this role, we prefer you to be located in either Chicago, New York, Greenwich or Austin and come into the office 3 days per week. We are open to having this role remote for candidates with the appropriate skills.\r\nThe team you will be joining\r\nWork with low latency financial market data and learn the intricacies of how market data feeds and electronic exchanges work\r\nWork with order data across a vast array of markets and asset classes\r\nSupport systems processing that data for Surveillance and Regulatory Reporting functions\r\nWork with sophisticated analytics tools that are custom built by our team of developers\r\nUse the latest technology stacks such as AWS, Java 17, Python 3, HDF5, Kubernetes, Kafka and Argo\r\nIs globally distributed across Europe and North America supporting global systems.\r\nOur team cares deeply about preserving a respectful and diverse team culture. We believe in choosing the right tech for the job even if that means learning something new or reviving something old. We value business impact and outcomes over process, and we make decisions based on data. We strive to adapt quickly as business priorities change.\r\nWhat you'll do:\r\nOperate key parts of a sophisticated data analysis pipeline\r\nMonitor and troubleshoot production jobs\r\nMonitor and work through list of data-related issues raised by the system, drilling into those requiring action, including looking into the code\r\nConsult with developers to determine appropriate courses of action and make suggestions for improvements to the system\r\nMonitor support channels and respond to user issues (2-10 per day)\r\nProvide L1 and L2 support for users and collaborate with developers on L3 support\r\nOnboard support processes for new development teams and applications as the support team continues to expand\r\nWhat we're looking for in this role\r\nPrevious experience supporting, monitoring, and troubleshooting high performance applications in the financial markets industry\r\nExperience supporting Linux environments\r\nExperience working with market data or order data systems\r\nExcellent analytical and troubleshooting skills\r\nFamiliarity with transfer protocols for financial data (FIX, native protocols)\r\nExposure to object orientated code. Java, and Python are a plus\r\nFamiliarity with version control software (git or svn)\r\nExperience with cloud computing, AWS preferred\r\nSQL experience including queries/updates/table creation/basic database maintenance\r\nThe annual base salary range for this position is $130,000 to $165,000 depending on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and relevant skill set. The position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
