The ECD Advocate works within the Education and Community Development (ECD) department, which assesses the needs of diverse populations residing in public housing communities in Fairfax County. Education and Community Development (ECD) advocates will engage clients in areas such as, case management and adult/youth programming that work to serve and better strengthen the community’s abilities to walk up and out of poverty. ECD advocates will also be responsible for overseeing volunteer staff and ensuring the effective growth, learning and development of any interns placed within the department and their respective community centers.\r\nThe position is visible to the general public and is subject to interruptions from walk-in traffic and telephone calls. High standards of courtesy, performance and respect for confidentiality are essential.
