Brief DescriptionKEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):Community Engagement & OutreachBuild and maintain positive relationships with community organizations, schools, civic groups, local leaders, and elected officials Represent the organization at community events, meetings, and outreach opportunities Support engagement with community partners to increase awareness and participation in programs and initiatives Coordinate with internal teams to ensure strong community presence across priority neighborhoods and audiences Marketing & Brand AlignmentCollaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to ensure consistent messaging across all community-facing efforts Support integrated campaigns by connecting community engagement activities to broader marketing strategies Serve as a brand ambassador, ensuring all external interactions reflect the organization’s voice and values Content & StorytellingIdentify and elevate stories from the community that highlight impact, success, and mission alignment Collaborate on content creation for social media, newsletters, website, and reports Capture testimonials, photos, and community insights to support storytelling efforts Event Support & ActivationSupport planning and execution of community events, outreach initiatives, and organizational activations Coordinate logistics and on-site engagement to maximize visibility and participation Promotes events through community channels and networks Track event participation, engagement metrics, and community feedback to support reporting and future planning Oversee tracking and reporting of engagement metrics, outreach efforts, and event outcomes to inform strategic planning and community engagement effectiveness. Ability to translate community data into actionable strategic recommendations. Reporting to the Chief Marketing & CommunicationsOfficer (CMCO), this role exercises high-level discretion to ensure all community-facing efforts alignwith organizational messaging and the strategic ambition plan.SummaryThe Community Relations Specialist serves as the primary connector and negotiator between theorganization and key stakeholders, local leaders, partners, and community members to deepen trust,increase awareness, and support the long-term success of the organization. Working closely with theMarketing & Communications team, as well as Operations, Programs, Development, leadership teams,and external stakeholders, the role focuses on strategic planning, partnership development, andcollaborative community engagement initiatives that advance the mission and goals of Boys & GirlsClubs of the Austin Area.
