We originate and service consumer auto installment contracts at 24.99% APR across multiple BHPH and hybrid retail locations. As we expand our portfolio and build toward a fully licensed, multi‑state consumer‑finance platform, we are hiring a senior operator to lead the next stage of growth.This is a ground‑floor leadership opportunity with direct access to ownership, full operational authority, and significant performance upside.Position OverviewTitle: Vice President, Finance OperationsReports To: Owner (no middle management)Location: Columbus, Ohio — on‑site with travel to dealer locationsDirect Reports: BHPH Operations Manager, Collections TeamBase Salary: $90,000–$130,000 (experience‑based)Quarterly Bonus: $15,000–$30,000 tied to portfolio performanceBenefits: Health, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, HSA, PTOKey ResponsibilitiesPortfolio PerformanceOwn total portfolio health across all locations (delinquency, charge‑offs, recovery, efficiency)Deliver monthly financial reporting to ownershipManage loan‑loss reserve methodology and adequacyOversee ACH enrollment, GPS compliance, and starter‑interrupt protocolsOrigination QualityEnforce underwriting standards across all finance managersManage near‑prime credit tier programsEnsure LTV compliance, deal structure integrity, and complete deal jacketsOrigination PartnershipConduct monthly deal‑quality reviews with each store’s finance managerProvide real‑time consultation on edge‑case approvalsLead first‑payment‑default analysis and accountabilityDevelop finance managers — you set the standard, not just audit itRun quarterly underwriting calibration based on portfolio performanceCollections LeadershipOversee centralized collections operations (Columbus, OH)Manage collector performance metrics (call volume, contact rates, PTP compliance)Direct GPS/starter‑interrupt activationsManage repossession vendors and recovery strategyCompliance & LicensingEnsure compliance with:Ohio Consumer Installment Loan Act (ORC 1321)Kentucky Consumer Loan License (KRS 286.4)CFPB, TILA, ECOA, FDCPA, FCRAOversee annual NMLS renewals (OH & KY)Manage credit‑bureau reporting (all three bureaus via Datalinx)Required Qualifications5+ years in consumer auto finance, BHPH, or subprime lending operationsExperience managing a $10M+ consumer loan portfolioHands‑on collections leadership and process designWorking knowledge of Ohio and/or Kentucky lending regulationsExperience with DealerCenter, DealerSocket, or similar DMSGPS/starter‑interrupt platform experience (Advantage GPS, PassTime, etc.)Preferred QualificationsPrevious operations leadership at Westlake Financial, CAC, DriveTime, JD Byrider, or similarNMLS licensing or regulatory exam experienceMetro 2 credit‑bureau reporting and FCRA complianceExperience building or scaling a collections operation from the ground upCareer Path & UpsideThis role has a clear advancement path to COO/President as Spark Finance scales into a licensed, multi‑state consumer‑finance company.
