{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"4db3beefa7c23e3d8d9858f8","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/4db3beefa7c23e3d8d9858f8","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/4db3beefa7c23e3d8d9858f8","title":"Packaging A Operator","description":"Position Summary:\nUnder the direction of the Packaging Supervisor, the Packaging Operator (A) main task is to: Provide first line leadership to support the operations team through continuous improvement of plant operation, maintenance, mechanical equipment integrity, reliability, and safety performance.\nJob Responsibilities include but are not limited to:\nFollow written or oral instructions regarding daily tasks and job duties.\nProvide troubleshooting expertise for the production units.\nKnow, comply, and enforce safe work procedures and operational discipline practices to the operations team.\nAct as a stepup Supervisor.\nSpot Bulk trucks or ISOs into designated offloading areas.\nApply grounding cables to carry off static electricity.\nPosition hoses to unload the product into the designated spots by connecting hoses to manifolds, transfer lines and filter housing.\nMonitor offloading process including watching gauges, pressurizing/ depressurizing bulk units and or by visually monitoring levels which may require the need to climb up onto tank trucks or railcars by ladder.\nOpen/Close valves, recoil hoses onto hose rack which requires pulling and reaching.\nOperate packaging machinery of several types at the production lines, always performing actions safely.\nSort and weigh products after packaging to ensure requirements are met and no mistakes have been made.\nApply labels and transfer products to warehouse locations.\nPerform simple maintenance on your machine to ensure it is completely functional and safe to operate.\nPerform tasks assigned to operations such as quality inspections, equipment preparation, process sampling, operating equipment lines, inventory movements (physical and within company ERP system), unloading/loading product from rail cars, tanks, ISO’s, tank trucks, totes, drums, and pails.\nIdentify, troubleshoot, and report the following to supervisor: equipment defects or malfunctions; out of spec material or contamination; safety issues or incidents.\nComplete paperwork and other minor administrative tasks carefully ensuring all information is entered correctly and clearly.\nSupport other machine operators to ensure no workers become fatigued or distracted during daily operation.\nPerform plant cleanup standard tasks during and at the end of an operation or workday.\nExhibits and practices the Third Coast Way fundamental behaviors\nKnowledge and Skills:\nHigh School Graduate or GED desired but not required.\nWork Experience:\nMinimum of 4 years warehouse experience\nKnowledge of and experience working with hazardous materials.\nSkills and Competencies:\nMust be able to multitask, stay organized, detailed, and focused and show a high level of initiative.\nStrong operations aptitude is desired.\nMust have good communication and leadership skills.\nMust be a selfstarter and willing to work in a team environment.\nAbility to identify and then implement process and productivity improvements.\nAbility to complete paperwork accurately and completely, understand the importance of detail and accuracy.\nAbility to communicate effectively to team members and management.\nGood Computer skills/ERP system experience.\nMust be able to read and interpret a Safety Data Sheet (SDS).\nPhysical Requirements\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to use their hands and arms to handle, feel, or reach.\nThe team member frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch.\nThe team member is occasionally required to sit.\nThe team member must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift 50 pounds and occasionally move or manipulate drums weighing between 200600 pounds.\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
