The Rod Mill Process Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing new processes as well as improving current existing ones for both the Rod Mill and Recycling. The Rod Mill Process Engineer coordinates the flow of information between maintenance and operations team to develop accurate proposal documentation, project timelines, and implementation.\nEssential Job Functions\nVerify all finished goods are compliant with internal quality standards\nIdentify manufacturing deficiencies and determine root causes\nOversee and track corrective action processes\nPerform failure testing on defective products & review on-going production data\nProactively identify and initiate opportunities to improve product and packaging performance, reduce cost, increase material utilization, integrate new products/processes into production, and reduce variation.\nImplement necessary changes and update all internal documentation.\nCollect, review, and present equipment reliability results and performance data to determine optimal equipment set-up to improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)\nWorking with the operational teams on providing training, writing appropriate standard operating procedures, as well as maintenance training plans & parts.\nBecome knowledgeable in Plant operation procedures in order to distinguish areas for development\nResearch and develop new and experimental processes to encourage innovation\nActively continue personal development/improvement initiatives that align with business objectives and job functions to provide increased contributions.\nRequirements\nBachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or acceptable technical program.\nStrong problem solving proficiencies\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nPrevious experience in a manufacturing role is a plus\nBasic metallurgy knowledge is a plus\nBilingual in Spanish is a plus\nNOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
