Job Title: Weed Abatement TechnicianPay: From $18.00/hourJob Type: Full-timeLocation: Varies (travel required)Job DescriptionWeed Abatement Technicians are responsible for vegetation control and site maintenance to reduce fire hazards and support land management efforts. This role involves operating equipment, applying herbicides, and working outdoors in various conditions.Key Responsibilities Perform mechanical and chemical weed and vegetation controlOperate equipment such as weed trimmers, mowers, chainsaws, and other landscaping toolsApply herbicides and pesticides in compliance with state and federal regulationsClear brush, weeds, and overgrowth to maintain safe and manageable sitesFollow all safety protocols, including proper use of protective equipmentConduct site inspections and report hazards or issuesWork in accordance with environmental guidelines to protect native plants and wildlifeCollaborate with team members to complete projects efficientlyQualificationsExperience: Prior experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, weed abatement, or vegetation management preferredSkills: Ability to operate and maintain landscaping equipmentKnowledge of herbicide and pesticide application practicesStrong attention to detailAbility to work independently and as part of a teamCertifications (Preferred, Not Required): Pesticide Applicator LicenseFire Fuel Reduction TrainingOSHA 10/30 CertificationPhysical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbsComfortable working outdoors in various weather conditionsAbility to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periodsSchedule Full-time hours8, 10, or 12-hour shiftsDay, evening, or night shifts availableMonday–Friday with weekends as neededAdditional Requirements Valid Driver's License requiredAbility to travel out of town with the companyFlexible availability
