Job Title Women's Assistant Soccer Coach Position Summary
The Assistant Women's Soccer Coach works as a member of the Athletic Department. Responsibilities include planning and directing the recruitment, conditioning, training, and performance of student-athletes, along with fiscal management, for a NAIA soccer program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Direct instruction of student-athletes relative to the skills and strategies necessary to compete in soccer at the collegiate level.
Develop coaching techniques, players and overall strategies; evaluate individual performances and provide leadership and instruction in areas deemed necessary for success.
Plan and coordinate team travel arrangements to include means used, equipment to be taken, logistics, etc.
Conduct comprehensive recruiting activities, coordinate with Admissions Office to establish academic eligibility and possible financial aid packages.
Participate in fundraising, public relations activities, e.g., public appearances, attendance at conferences, etc.
Ensure compliance with NAIA rules and regulations.
Education, Certifications and/or Licenses
Bachelor's degree required.
Valid Texas driver's license required.
Experience
| Head or assistant collegiate or high school coaching experience preferred, or also having played the sport at a high level (i.e. college or professional).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Coaching strategies specific to soccer.
Knowledge of NCAA and NAIA rules for soccer.
Familiarity with NAIA rules and procedures.
Instructing student-athletes relative to specific skill necessary to compete in collegiate soccer.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, legal documents, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to effectively present information to Senior Staff, public groups, managers and employees.
Have a strong focus on student-athlete academic success.
Insist on exemplary student-athlete behaviors both on campus and in public.
Have extensive coaching experience at either the high school or college level.
