In this role, you’ll work hands-on with complex parts and advanced measurement systems, partnering closely with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Design Engineering, Quality, and R&D to ensure hardware meets demanding performance and reliability requirements.\nYou’ll thrive here if you enjoy solving ambiguous measurement problems, communicating clearly across disciplines, and building repeatable processes that scale. We’re looking for someone who takes ownership—from defining inspection strategy and tooling, to documenting methods and presenting results—while continuously improving how metrology supports production and engineering teams.\nThe Schedule:\nShift: Monday through Friday, 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm\nSalary Range: $77,000 - 128,000 (includes 10% shift differential)\nWhat you'll do:\nDevelop and refine advanced mechanical inspection techniques to solve complex measurement challenges\nQualify and document inspection methods in partnership with Quality Engineering (procedures, work instructions, and evidence of capability)\nCollaborate daily with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to support production readiness and rapid issue resolution\nSupport evaluation and selection of new metrology equipment and technologies, including ROI, capability, and implementation planning\nMaintain metrology equipment and standards; execute 5S and calibration/verification activities as applicable\nProvide design-for-inspection input during drawing release, GD&T definition, and development of inspection standards\nCross-train as a Quality Technician and perform routine inspections as needed to support throughput\nSummarize, visualize, and present critical dimensional inspection results to technical and non-technical stakeholders\nDesign and procure inspection fixturing and tooling to enable accurate, repeatable measurements\nWhat we’re looking for:\nBachelors degree in an engineering discipline, or equivalent industry experience in lieu of a degree\n3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or field environment\nDemonstrated experience developing advanced metrology/inspection techniques\nStrong communication skills, including presenting technical information to broad audiences\nAbility to interpret complex mechanical drawings and apply GD&T\nWorking knowledge of standard machining and fabrication processes\nExperience programming metrology and/or manufacturing equipment\nCAD design experience\nCMM programming experience (ZEISS Calypso preferred)\nExperience using portable metrology equipment (e.g., Creaform, laser tracker, CMM arm)\nCAD design experience (Siemens NX preferred)\nWorking knowledge of quality systems fundamentals\nComfort using Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) or similar collaboration platforms\nBonus points for:\nPolyWorks Inspector experience\nHands-on experience with a range of metrology equipment and measurement approaches\nExperience creating and implementing procedures, work instructions, and training materials\nFamiliarity with statistical quality tools (e.g., gage R&R, DOE)\nQuality experience in a regulated industry (e.g., aerospace, medical)\nWorking knowledge of ERP and MES systems\nExperience working as a field metrologist or supporting on-site measurements\nMust-have requirements:\nAbility to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs\nPerform activities such as typing, standing, or sitting for extended periods of time\nWork in a facility that contains industrial hazards including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead (Pb), high voltage, high current, pressure systems, and cryogenics\nWillingness to travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call occasionally\nSalary range for this full-time position + equity + benefits.
