The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence.\nMain Responsibilities\n\nMust have a basic knowledge of the mechanics and hydraulics of the machine.\nMust have skills to conduct an inspection checklist on equipment such as tracks, lights, brakes, fuel, oil and water.\nMust keep equipment serviced, lubricated, and in good working order, including good housekeeping.\nMust have an understanding of control levers for movement of bucket.\nMust have a priority for safety and welfare of workers in the trench during pipelaying operations.\nMust have a basic knowledge of the different soil types.\nMust have the ability to operate the vehicle safely in job site situations and follow the policies and procedures of the company.\nQualifications\n\nHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED).\nMinimum of 2-3 years of related experience (running L78 Volvo Wheel Loader and/or similar size).\nMust provide own transportation to and from work.\nAbility to work safely and follow the policies and procedures of the company.\nDriving License (preferred).\n\nPhysical Demands\n\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hand to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, or walk, talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is usually required to sit for long periods. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Employees must have 20/40 vision either naturally or with corrective lenses.
