You will work closely with punch press operators, injection mold operators and assembly line technicians to create and/or maintain their tools, to produce quality parts. The role will include planning, design and construction of tools, dies, molds, fixtures and machine components.\n\nPrimary Responsibilities:\n\nPlan, design, and create molds.\nTroubleshoot, modify and repair existing molds.\nPerform periodic mold and die maintenance at suggested intervals\nModify or repair existing tooling and progressive dies.\nDie conversions, for example punch or die section change for multiple part configurations.\nExamine previously used dies and tooling components and recommend design modifications regarding construction and functionality for improvement.\nApply Root Cause Analysis to tooling breakages and premature failure; analyze the problems and implement permanent corrective actions.\nPerform precision work to exacting tolerances and dimensions; recommend revisions in design and/or substitutions in material based on machinability or fabrication problems encountered; and solve problems relating to unusual materials.\nWork with outside suppliers and vendors.\n\nPreferred Education and Experience:\n\n10+ years or more of experience in shop environment.\nHigh School diploma or equivalent required; advanced training/certification training in tool and die preferred.\nMust have mold design experience.\nMold flow, CAD/Cam experience a plus.\n\nQualifications:\n\nKnowledge of metal characteristics and properties including heat-treating\nKnowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.\nStrong orientation towards quality, safety, and continuous improvement.\nAbility to prototype parts\nA working knowledge of injection mold machines/press room equipment and machinery.\nA working proficiency using conventional and CNC tool-room equipment and machinery.\nA working proficiency of Sinker EDM, Wire EDM, Hole Popper EDM.\nDemonstrated ability to read and use blueprints.\n\nPhysical Requirements:\n\nFrequent use of personal computers, database and digital platforms, and other office productivity machinery, such as copy machines and computer printers.\nFrequently uses hands, fingers, and arms to reach, handle, touch or feel equipment, materials, and computer.\nFrequent close vision and the ability to adjust focus.\nOccasionally use of steps, or ladder.\nThe employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.\nSeldom to occasionally position self to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.\n\nSalary Range\nPlease note the typical hiring range is $39.00 - $55.00 total compensation.
