(CSS) is seeking a DevOps Engineer (Jira Platform Engineer) who will serve as the technical owner of our Jira SaaS for our clients’ cloud platform and will be responsible for administering, configuring, and integrating the application within our enterprise technology ecosystem. This position plays a pivotal role in consolidating our collaborative planning tools—transitioning from Azure DevOps (on-prem) and GitLab (on-prem) to Jira—while enabling and scaling Agile practices across the organization.\r\nThe ideal candidate is both technically proficient and strategically minded, with a strong\r\nunderstanding of Agile methodologies, DevSecOps workflows, and enterprise systems\r\nintegration.\r\nResponsibilities\r\nAdministering, configuring, and integrating the Jira SaaS for government cloud within our enterprise technology ecosystem.\r\nConsolidating our collaborative planning tools—transitioning from Azure DevOps (on-premises) and GitLab (on-premises) to Jira Atlassian Government Cloud (AGC) SaaS for government.\r\nBuilding robust, automated, and secure integrations between Jira SaaS for government and core enterprise systems (e.g., ServiceNow, GitLab), enabling end-to-end visibility across planning, development, and operations\r\nJira Administration & Engineering\r\nAdminister, configure, and optimize Jira SaaS to meet enterprise project management and Agile delivery needs.\r\nDesign and maintain custom workflows, issue types, screens, fields, and automation rules aligned with organizational Agile frameworks and guidelines.\r\nManage user permissions, group roles, and security schemes to ensure governance and compliance.\r\nMonitor Jira license utilization, user growth, and application usage to ensure efficient use of subscriptions.\r\nCollaborate with procurement teams to support renewal, optimization, and budget decisions.\r\nSystem Integration & Development\r\nDesign, implement, and maintain seamless integrations between Jira and other enterprise systems, such as GitLab (source control & CI/CD), and ServiceNow (ITSM), using Okta, REST APIs, webhooks, middleware, and scripting.\r\nAutomate data synchronization across platforms to support traceability from planning to release.\r\nTroubleshoot and optimize integration pipelines to ensure performance, security, and scalability.\r\nPartner with infrastructure and cybersecurity teams to align integrations with enterprise security and compliance standards.\r\nDevelop and maintain technical documentation, standards, and best practices.\r\nAgile Enablement\r\nPartner with the Agile Transformation Office to translate Agile practices into effective Jira configurations and usage patterns.\r\nProvide technical guidance and mentoring to Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and teams on best-practice tool utilization.\r\nSupport reporting and analytics initiatives, ensuring reliable Agile metrics (velocity, burndown, cycle time, etc.).\r\nSupport and enable teams to transition from Azure DevOps Boards, Gitlab, Jira (hosted) to JIRA SaaS.\r\nRequired Qualifications\r\nThree (3+) years of hands-on experience administering and/or engineering Jira (Self-hosting or SaaS).\r\nProven, hands-on experience developing custom integrations with enterprise platforms, especially GitLab and ServiceNow.
