We produce, package, and ship an assortment of frozen food entrees for Private Labels and National Brands for both the retail and food service markets. Our mission is to honor God in all we do, to help people develop, to pursue excellence, and to grow profitably.Summary: Request Foods is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Procurement to lead our procurement team. This role involves developing future vision and coaching our team members to enable organizational growth. Our procurement champion will be responsible for monitoring market data/insights, and integrating new technologies, into Request Foods future sourcing initiatives. While implementing procurement strategies, working across various functional departments, and building strong relationships, internally, and with our supplier partners, our procurement leader will ensure total cost-quality-delivery objectives are achieved. The ideal candidate will possess strong relationship-based leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a proven track record in procurement leadership and financial acumen.Essential ResponsibilitiesInstill a relationship-based leadership mindset throughout the entire procurement team with a passion driven leadership style involving critical thinking and strong business acumen.Foster a center of excellence culture, and critical thinking community within Procurement-Logistics-Supply Chain through leading, coaching and developing high performance action-oriented teams.Inspire and empower the procurement team to achieve business success, leading to a high profit efficient organization (2X top line by 2030).Advance and maintain a supply base that will maximize the organization's profitability by achieving world-class quality, delivery, innovation, and cost.Develop futuristic inventory management and sourcing strategies to ensure supply while reducing overall inventory and maximize value.Partner with other functional areas to enhance overall business solutions (finance, DT, operations, human resources) while integrating operations/manufacturing excellence into all aspects of procurement business solutions and partnerships (measure success in terms of their success).Leverage, advance, and integrate technology; become a leading-edge technology procurement function.Enhance and grow procurement processes and tools utilizing formal problem-solving solutions to address supplier performance (best business practices-BBP).Analyze and evaluates market trends, global supply/demand, economic factors and use data to develop and execute robust commodity sourcing strategies.Coordinate launch readiness activities between suppliers and Request Foods project teams, assuring timelines are achieved.Institutionalize an end-to-end P&L mindset throughout Procurement.Develop strategies to integrate and advance procurement within Request’s indirect buy.Implement appropriate KPI’s to lead the procurement business towards future goals and objectives.Additional functions not specifically outlined in this position description as directed by the leader.Key RequirementsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty effectively. A strong overall business acumen, a background in finance or MBA, is highly desirable. Professional certifications such as APICS and CPM are a bonus.10+ years experience of strategic procurement or related fields, preferably within the food industry.5+ active years in an influential leadership role with demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional and cross-cultural teams.Experience in strategic objective goal setting to drive increased operational performance.Advanced analytical, problem solving, negotiating, and communicating skills.A people over profit relationship-based leadership style.Strong time management skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks with tight timeframes.Proficient with Microsoft Applications (e.g. word, excel, outlook, etc).
