Other duties may be assigned.\nLeads assemblers and mechanical techs in the assembly department.\nCommunicates and enforces safety policies.\nCommunicates with assembly manager. Reports information on employee progress and issues for ongoing performance evaluations. Reports information on production efficiencies and delays.\nCommunicates with electrical lead throughout production.\nCommunicates with purchasing regarding purchased components.\nPrepares and organizes weekly and daily tasks for the assembly department, including off shift tasks.\nManages build schedule and daily updates associated with it.\nUtilizes ERP for production status, time adjustments, job hour reviews.\nEvaluates all processes within area of responsibility for ways to improve in quality, tooling usage, and run times.\nResponsible for developing and sustaining 6S areas.\nCommunicates with project managers and engineering to troubleshoot, maintain schedule, determine customer supplied parts arrivals.\nReads and understands blueprints.\nDirects assembly team on proper assembly processes and techniques.\nStudies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine sequence of operations, and setup requirements.\nAssembles functional parts of enclosures and tanks using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straight edges.\nIs qualified in the use of forklifts, cranes and other lifting apparatus to aide in the assembly process.\nAssembles and installs electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery and equipment.\nConducts interviews for assembly positions with HR.\nConducts employee reviews.\nMay operate welding equipment to cut or weld parts.\nDevelops standard work, work instructions, processes.\nConfers with managers, engineers, production personnel, or others to resolve assembly problems.\nMaintains a clean and organized work area.\nQUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work. Communicates any problems that arise to the Assembly Manager.\nEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training and a High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nLANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.\nMATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.\nREASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
