In this role, you will perform structural design and inspections for bridge improvement projects across Ohio, with a primary focus on Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) and municipal transportation initiatives. You will take ownership of technical deliverables, prepare construction plans, and mentor junior design engineers and technicians in a collaborative environment.ResponsibilitiesDevelop preliminary and detailed design plans, structural calculations, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates for diverse Ohio bridge projects.Apply critical thinking to select, adapt, and execute established engineering methods aligning with ODOT and local transportation standards.Utilize CAD and structural design tools to produce accurate design drawings, geometric layouts, and quantity calculations.Lead technical aspects of small- to medium-sized structural bridge and transportation projects.Perform periodic site observations, conduct field inspections, and answer Requests for Information (RFIs) during constructionMaintain clear communication with clients, project stakeholders, and subconsultants regarding active project deliverables.Direct and mentor Design Engineers and CAD Technicians assigned to project teams, conducting quality assurance reviews on work products.RequirementsBachelor of Science (B.S.) in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Ohio required.Minimum of 5+ years of structural bridge design experience working under a licensed Professional Engineer.Hands-on experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.Technical Software: Familiarity with industry-standard structural analysis and bridge design software (e.g., LEAP Bridge, AASHTOWare, STAAD.Pro).Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, analytical problem-solving abilities, and strong organizational skills.BenefitsMedical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance401k Retirement Plan, Company MatchPaid Vacation, Paid HolidaysTuition reimbursementCandidates are required to pass a Criminal Background Check and a 10 Panel Drug Screen.
