Job Summary

Duties
Prepare and prosecute a wide range of criminal cases, including felonies and misdemeanors, ensuring adherence to legal standards and procedural rules
Conduct legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategies and legal arguments
Draft legal documents, including indictments, motions, pleadings, and sentencing recommendations with clarity and precision
Negotiate plea agreements with defense attorneys to resolve cases efficiently while safeguarding justice principles
Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during investigations, providing legal guidance on search warrants, evidence collection, and case development
Represent the Commonwealth in court proceedings, including arraignments, hearings, trials, and sentencing hearings
Engage in community outreach initiatives to educate the public about criminal justice processes and promote crime prevention efforts
Stay current on developments across multiple legal disciplines such as estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, patent law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, litigation practices, and legal administrative procedures
Experience
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction
Proven experience in criminal prosecution or related legal practice is highly preferred
Strong research skills utilizing LexisNexis and Westlaw for case law analysis and legal precedent review
Excellent writing skills demonstrated through drafting motions, reports, and legal correspondence
Familiarity with courtroom procedures and litigation strategies across diverse areas of law including family law, estate planning, environmental law, securities law, tribal regulations, workers' compensation law, personal injury claims, patent issues or immigration matters is advantageous
Legal administrative experience that ensures efficient case management and documentation processes
Ability to negotiate effectively with various stakeholders while maintaining professionalism and integrity
