Senior Project Engineers have primary responsibility for the planning, execution, and administrative aspects of project development and delivery as the main conduit of information between the Engineering Project Management team and the integrated delivery team for cost, revenue, budgeting, scheduling, project controls, risk and change management for Kiewit design teams and external partners on industrial water and wastewater collaborative delivery design-build/EPCC projects and pursuits. Earn trust, credibility, and buy-in of processes from Operations team to create better cohesion and clear communication within the organization. Manage and effectively interpret the right data, reports, and tools for risk analysis and benchmarking for multiple projects such that sound business decisions can be made based on these results. Utilize Kiewit’s unique project controls environment along with industry execution knowledge and fundamental practices to manage budget and cost controls for engineering progress and performance. Manage project engineering performance consistent with contractual documents, quality plans and corporate policies: financial, integrated schedules, engineering project controls, client relations, risk and change management, and cost control and forecasting. Assist project management team(s) with the establishment of project procedures consistent with contractual documents and quality plans for all engineering work and coordinate training and tracking measures to ensure compliance. Provide client facing interactions related to engineering progress, reporting and maintenance of project expectations. Develop new and/or recommend improvements to existing organizational assets including engineering templates for fee estimating, financial tracking, and reporting. Develop and maintain project-specific engineering master schedules, inclusive of internal and third-party activities, as applicable. Ensure engineering schedules are fully integrated into the project master schedule using appropriate techniques and scheduling software with input from other project management personnel. Assist projects with short-term schedule development, tracking, management, and reporting (90-day and 3-week look ahead schedules). Support project change management processes to ensure that project scope of work, schedule and budget are clearly defined and understood. Assist project management team with review of new issue drawings and contract documents for change of conditions to quantify and communicate impact of changes with project stakeholders. Assist in the tracking of project change orders and development of projections. Complete progress and quantity audits to validate reported progress. Develop and maintain project-specific KPIs for reporting to project stakeholders. Manage production of monthly reports on schedule, budget, cost and risk mitigation progress, trends, and forecasts.Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering in any discipline from an accredited university Advanced Technical or Business Degree – MS, MBA (desirable) Professional Engineer (PE) registration (desirable) 10+ years’ experience in project/program management, project engineering experience and/or training, specifically in the Water industry Knowledge and application of collaborative project delivery methods (PDB, FPDB, CMAR, DBOOM, DBFOM, P3) Well versed and knowledgeable in supplier, vendor, designer, and subcontractor coordination and interface management Strong working knowledge and understanding of project controls terminology and project scheduling processes Appreciation and understanding of the operations of other functions (e.g. Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, Supplier Quality Surveillance, Business Management, Estimating, etc.) Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative Strong work ethic and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills, including reporting and presenting Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives Focus on building trusting and collaborative teams, mentoring technical staff, and striving for excellence in project outcomes Willing and available to accommodate travel as business requiresOther Requirements: Regular, reliable attendance Work productively and meet deadlines timely Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment Perform work safely and effectively.
