Receive rollstock and other raw materials by company procedures. Unload and load trucks and rail cars as necessary. Operate Bander, Hand Bander, and Conveyor Line as needed. Assisting Material Handlers, Shipping Personnel, Clamp Drivers and keeping warehouse organized\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\nWork Safely – report all unsafe conditions and or near misses immediately to your Supervisor.\nReport any property damage that occurred while you were on the lift, regardless of how insignificant it may seem.\nMaintain a clean work area – keep docks picked up, aisle ways clean and swept, bander area clean and empty trash as required.\nKeep all converting equipment lines full, machines should not wait on product.\nAble to read and understand the production schedule – keeps Supervisor informed in advance of issues.\nWork efficiently, handling bales only once, minimizing any fork lift damage.\nCut and remove banding and dunnage for machines as directed\nOperate and maintain fork truck equipment as required.\nPerform Fork Lift inspection daily at the beginning of your shift as required by OSHA\nCommunicate all relevant information to oncoming shift prior to leaving.\nFollow all LOTO procedures for loading and unloading trailers.\nProcess, tag, and store incoming raw materials as required.\nInspects all incoming and outgoing product and supplies and document for defects.\nInventory and organize finished products.\nPerform all documentation as assigned, i.e. load verification form.\nShred waste materials – be sure to properly weigh and identify load.\nOperate plant PC’s and appropriate systems to complete assigned tasks.\nEnter Maintenance Work Requests– for Safety, Scheduled and Unscheduled tasks as needed.\nRework any bales or pallets of finished goods that have been spilled or are potentially unsafe.\nWork with other Fork Lift drivers as a team and communicate accordingly.\nFollow plant procedures on tracking waste bales; place all quarantined product into quarantine area.\nOther tasks as assigned.\nREQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS\nEducation:\nHigh School Diploma or GED.\nExperience\nPrior forklift experience required.\nMust be able to pass basic forklift and clamp truck training.\nAbility to read and write English.\nAbility to read tape measures and perform basic mathematical calculations.\nSPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS OR ABILITIES\nStrong written and oral communication.\nOrganization and attention to detail.\nAnalytical and problem-solving skills.\nTime management.\nSystems analysis.\nMathematical and deductive reasoning.\nCritical thinking.\nActive learning.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.\nThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the functions of this job.\nPhysical Demands:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and communicate with team members.\nThe employee frequently is required to use hands, reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, or crouch.\nAbility to climb up and down into a forklift or clamp truck to operate safely\nThe employee must regularly lift and or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds.\nSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.\nWork Environment:\nThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
