The position will, with increasing ability and confidence, apply fundamental engineering training, knowledge, and experience to deliver independently prepared and completed tasks and projects including engineering studies and site assessment and investigation reports; power distribution calculations for voltage drop, switchboards, panel boards, transformers, wire and cable tray sizing, conduit fill, and ampere interrupting capacity; electrical designs of most elements of a project; preparation of Basis of Design (BOD); preparation of fully designed plans, specifications and estimates (PS&E), and other engineering reports, cost estimates, and construction support. The position will coordinate with other team members, provide directions to others, participate in planning tasks, prepare budget/project schedules, and partake in clients/team interactions.\n\nDesigning electric services for military and government facilities, industrial, commercial, and educational construction projects.\n\nDeveloping lighting and power designs, site power design and planning, and emergency power design.\n\nTypes of projects may include new or renovations for office buildings, retail stores, industrial buildings, manufacturing and assembly plants, schools, medical and healthcare facilities, DoD and public agency operations and maintenance facilities, utilities, pump and lift stations, SCADA/Telemetry and others.\n\nDesigning power distribution and sub-transmission equipment, equipment configurations.\n\nPerforming electrical design involving high and low voltages.\n\nPerforming both power demand and fault current calculations.\n\nUtility coordination.\n\nPreparing cost estimations.\n\nPermit processing.\n\nConstruction support.\n\nPerforming reviews for drawings, engineering calculations, and specifications by others.\n\nWorking as owners’ representative in review and approval process.\n\nQualifications\n\nTeam leadership\n\nSkills in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, Bluebeam and AutoCAD Civil 3D\n\nMicroStation, MS Project\n\nExcellent writing and communication skills\n\nAbility to prepare engineering reports with the guidance of a project manager or senior individual.\n\nPreferred knowledge of public works and DoD agency processes\n\nEducation & Experience\n\nA Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college (ABET) is required.\n\nA Master’s degree desirable.\n\n5-10 years of electrical engineering experience.\n\nPE License (in California) required.\n\nExperience working with DoD agencies like the Navy will be considered a plus.\n\nCompensation and Benefits\n\nCompetitive salary\n\nPerformance bonus\n\n8 Paid holidays\n\nPersonal Time Off (vacation & sick day)\n\nHealth insurance plans - medical, dental, and vision, PacRim pays 75% of the premium for employees AND dependents’ coverage\n\n401(k) plan with employer contributions\n\nProfessional Engineering License Assistance Program\n\nFlexible work from home options available.\n\nPacRim is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
