This role offers an exciting opportunity to be involved in all aspects of project execution and business operations, with potential for significant professional growth.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nUse AutoCAD to design and prepare engineering documents, including mark-ups and production tasks for diverse projects.\n\nCompile electrical evaluation and cost estimate reports.\n\nCoordinate and design electric projects adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements.\n\nPerform engineering and technical tasks as assigned.\n\nSupport engineering work functions and conduct site visits and surveys.\n\nCommunicate with architects, owners, and other stakeholders throughout the design phases.\n\nManage construction administration by reviewing shop drawings and coordinating with contractors and design teams.\n\nPlan, organize, and prioritize multiple assignments independently.\n\nCommunicate effectively with clients both orally and in writing.\n\nAssist with proposals, marketing efforts, project reports, and technical presentations.\n\nDevelop and complete applications, permits, engineering reports, and specifications.\n\nAttend and conduct client and project meetings.\n\nPrioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.\n\nEssential Skills\n\n1+ years of experience as an electrical engineer with an MEP firm.\n\nProficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.\n\nAbility to design electrical MEP projects with limited guidance.\n\nStrong report writing skills.\n\nExperience in coordinating with external engineering trades and clients.\n\nKnowledge of NEC codes.\n\nAdditional Skills & Qualifications\n\nExperience with power distribution and lighting design.\n\nFamiliarity with NEC codes and MEP design principles.\n\nWork Environment\nOur office offers a small, collaborative environment where all employees contribute to running the business and are involved in financial decision‑making. We have a very hands‑on approach, encouraging learning and exposure to all project aspects. The work schedule is extremely flexible, requiring 40+ hours weekly, with no fixed working hours. Benefits include full medical coverage, profit sharing, bonuses, and opportunities to work closely with the firm’s leadership.\n\nJob Type & Location\nThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Morristown, NJ.\n\nPay and Benefits\nThe pay range for this position is $40.07 - $60.00/hr.\n\nEligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
