We are intentionally keeping this position open-level and will align title and responsibilities with the experience and capabilities of the selected candidate.\nThis role is fully onsite at our North Austin office.\nWhat You'll Do Product Development Develop innovative product concepts and engineering solutions for medical device applications.\nTranslate clinical, user, and business needs into practical product designs.\nCreate detailed 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings using SolidWorks.\nPerform engineering analyses including FEA, tolerance stack analysis, material selection, risk assessments, and failure investigations.\nApply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles and collaborate with manufacturing partners to optimize designs.\nDevelop and execute verification and validation testing.\nAnalyze data, draw conclusions, and communicate results through technical reports and presentations.\nCreate and maintain design documentation and Design History Files in accordance with company procedures.\nParticipate in cadaver labs, surgical observations, product evaluations, and industry events.\nSupport design transfer and commercialization activities.\nContribute to sustaining engineering efforts including product improvements, complaint investigations, and engineering changes.\nParticipate in project planning and execution activities across multiple development programs.\nCoordinate activities with cross-functional teams and external partners.\nLead portions of development projects or entire projects depending on experience and level.\nIdentify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives and organizational growth.\nWork closely with engineers, surgeons, manufacturing partners, quality, regulatory, and commercial teams.\nCommunicate project status, technical challenges, and recommendations to stakeholders.\nPresent technical information to project teams and leadership.\nProvide mentorship and technical guidance to less experienced team members as appropriate.\nWhat You'll Bring Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.\n3+ years of direct medical device product development experience.\nExperience supporting products through multiple phases of the development lifecycle.\nProficiency with 3D CAD software; SolidWorks experience preferred.\nExperience developing and executing engineering test plans.\nStrong problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.\nPreferred Experience with orthopedic, spine, trauma, or implantable medical devices.\nExperience with finite element analysis (FEA).\nKnowledge of anatomy, biomechanics, and surgical procedures.\nExperience working within FDA-regulated product development environments.\nExperience leading projects or mentoring engineers.\nCompensation Compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications\nSignificant employer contributions to medical, dental, and vision plans\nA fully employer-sponsored life insurance plan\nVoluntary: Additional Life/AD&D Insurance, Long Term Disability, Short-Term Disability, Accident Insurance, Critical Illness Insurance, and Hospital Indemnity Insurance\nAccess to an Employee Assistant Program (EAP)\n401(k) Plan\nPaid Time Off\n8 Holidays + 2 Floating Holidays of your choice\nDisclaimers We do not accept applications from third-party recruiters or staffing agencies.\nAt this time, we are unable to sponsor work visas.
