The Systems Engineer will integrate all individual systems at their location and serve as the main engineering support for Tier 2 support services. This includes troubleshooting complex system issues, maintaining secure physical and virtual infrastructure, and training Tier 1 support personnel to ensure reliable mission operations. To ensure the success of this program, the Systems Engineer requires the ability to stand up complex WIDS environments, configure and maintain stand-alone and enterprise security systems in both physical and virtual security environments, and have experience with either Windows, Linux, or both. The Systems Engineer will also be expected to have strong written and verbal communication skills as well as a penchant for problem-solving engineering tasks. This position is contingent upon award of contract, business needs, security clearance verification, and funding availability.\n\nWork Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 am - 5 pm.\n\nEssential Responsibilities:\n\nIntegrate, configure, and maintain WIDS hardware and software in stand-alone and enterprise environments.\nProvide Tier 2 technical support for system administration, troubleshooting, and operational maintenance.\nDeploy, configure, and maintain Windows and/or Linux server environments.\nSupport system integration, upgrades, patch management, and configuration management activities.\nMonitor system performance and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues.\nCoordinate with Network Engineers, WIDS Specialists, and Program Management to support system deployments and sustainment.\nDevelop and maintain technical documentation, system procedures, and engineering reports.\nProvide technical guidance and training to Tier 1 support personnel.\nSupport accreditation, security compliance, and system hardening activities.\n\nWork Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands: Office Setting, but may be required to install sensors and wiring, which requires climbing ladders and lifting up to 20 lbs.\n\nMinimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):\n\nKnowledge of virtualization technologies, Active Directory, and enterprise system administration.\nExperience with configuration and maintenance of stand-alone and enterprise security systems in both physical and virtual security environments.\nExperience troubleshooting complex hardware, software, and network issues.\nFamiliarity with LAN/WAN technologies, routers, switches, firewalls, and storage solutions.\nExperience with system integration, configuration management, and security best practices.\nStrong analytical, written/verbal communication, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to travel worldwide.\n\nSecurity Clearance Required: TS/SCI w/ Poly\n\nMinimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree\n\nMinimum Years of Experience:\n\n5–7 years of experience as a systems engineer.\nMinimum of five (5) years of experience administering secure Windows and/or Linux enterprise environments.\nExperience supporting DoD and/or Intelligence Community systems in operational environments.\n\nDesired Certifications:\n\nAppropriate ND 50-05 certification for assigned duties.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nExperience writing clear, concise, and user-friendly technical and training manuals or similar documentation to include documents required for A&A IAW ICD 503.\nExperience in LAN/WAN technologies, routers, switches, firewalls; experience with Storage Area Network (SAN), clustering and backup technologies.\nExperience and proficiency with systems engineering concepts, principles and theories and system modeling tools.\n\nThis position is designated as a safety-sensitive position.\n\nAs part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment, Amentum is a drug-free workplace and requires all personnel to comply with company drug and alcohol policies as a condition of employment.
