This role is approximately 80% hands-on development and 20–30% technical leadership, working alongside and guiding a team of 10+ engineers.The engineer will help build a next-generation Multifamily Data Platform while modernizing legacy software and data architectures.Key ResponsibilitiesLead hands-on development of scalable applications and data platforms.Design and develop Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices.Work with MongoDB and relational databases/SQL.Develop and deploy applications using AWS and Kubernetes.Establish technical standards, guide engineering priorities, and support delivery.Collaborate with Product Owners, stakeholders, and engineering teams.Use Generative AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or Claude for coding, refactoring, testing, and productivity.Troubleshoot complex technical issues and contribute to modernization of legacy systems.Required SkillsStrong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.Expertise in REST APIs and Microservices architecture.Production experience with MongoDB and relational databases/SQL.Hands-on experience with AWS and Kubernetes.Experience leading teams of 10+ engineers.Proven experience with technical leadership, prioritization, and delivery.Active, daily use of GenAI tools for software development and testing.Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience in Mortgage, Loan Servicing, Loan Origination, FinTech, or Real Estate data platforms.Experience modernizing legacy applications and data architectures.Interview ProcessRound 1: 30-minute virtual interviewRound 2: 60-minute in-person interview in McLean, VACandidate Vetting QuestionsCandidates must provide responses to the following:Describe your most recent development project as a FullStack Tech Lead, including the project, your contribution, technologies used, and how you selected the tools.Describe how you handle conflicts involving resource allocation, deadlines, or competing priorities, including stakeholder management.Describe your leadership and communication approach when team members disagree or conflicts arise.What is your preferred FullStack technology or stack and why?
