As a Wastewater Operator Lead, you will guide the daily operation, cleaning, and maintenance of water and wastewater equipment, ensuring systems run reliably and meet all regulatory standards. You will partner closely with the Environmental Manager and team to support safe operations, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvement. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who takes pride in environmental stewardship, equipment reliability, and supporting a high performing operation.\r\nSchedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm\r\nPrincipal Essential Duties & Responsibilities\r\nLead technicians in the operation and maintenance of Wastewater Treatment equipment.\r\nHave a valid driver's license to drive company vehicles to collect samples off plant site.\r\nBe able to climb ladders 20 to 40 feet heights on ladders and stairs when required.\r\nCan physically clean wastewater tanks with squeegee.\r\nOversee as required for safety and housekeeping, the cleaning around tanks, pumps, building and lagoons.\r\nWork in organic sludges as required.\r\nOperate sludge Belt Press.\r\nHandles, acids, caustics, and polymers when required, listed MSDS sheets, and training.\r\nAbility to make operational-related decisions under the direction of the Environmental Manager I.\r\nMinimum Education and Experience\r\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent.\r\n5 years of experience.\r\nStrong reading, writing, math, and analytical skills.\r\nVirginia DPOR Wastewater Operators license Class 2, within two years of selection for position.\r\nPhysical Requirements and Environmental Factors\r\nWork will be outside exposed to varying weather conditions.\r\nWill work with organic sludges, strong acids and bases.\r\nNormal lifting of 100 pounds required.\r\nWalks approximately five miles per shift.\r\nWill climb ladders and stairs.\r\nRequired safety equipment will have to be worn.\r\nPerdue Farms Inc. is an Equal Opportunity employer.
