This role requires a proactive and detailed professional with hands-on experience in construction management, site safety, and quality assurance (or willing to learn). The ideal candidate will assist with project planning and implementation, ensure compliance with safety standards, and maintain high-quality workmanship throughout the project life cycle. The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with government officials, subcontractors and internal teams to drive project success.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nJob Safety & Maintenance\n\nMaintain a safe and clean job site\nPreconstruction preparation of the jobsite (office, office trailer, poster(s), first aid kit, fire extinguisher(s), etc.)\nKeep the jobsite and all related construction materials secure\nOpen/close the jobsite in absence of the lead supervisor\nMonitor cleanliness and hold all subcontractors responsible for daily cleanup\nAssist with managing all aspects of federal construction projects from initiation to completion\nEnsure compliance with all federal regulations, including but not limited to FAR, DFARS, and agency specific guidelines\nReview and interpret contract specifications, project specifications and safety standards\nAssist Superintendent with overseeing project schedules, budgets, and cost controls to ensure financial and operational efficiency\n\nConstruction Support & Coordination\n\nManage and maintain Foreman Schedule\nManage and maintain Daily Logs, photos and documentation\nPerform basic skills including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, etc., after general cleanup\nMaintain personal and company provided tools\nOversee all aspects of the project from planning to implementation\nAllocate resources for assigned projects\nCommunicate and coordinate with Project Manager, CORs, Subcontractors, architects, engineers, and clients (i.e., Government, etc.)\nMaintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specifications\nAbility to read blueprints\n\nTeam Leadership & Financial Management\n\nCoordinate with Superintendents, Safety Officers, and Quality Control Managers to uphold project standards\nParticipate in pre-construction planning, budgeting, and scheduling\nMonitor subcontractor/vendor payment applications\nRepresent the company in client meetings, progress briefings, and industry events\n\nRequired Education and Experience\n\nTrack 1: Four (4) years or more working in commercial/federal construction as a tradesman in an industry apprentice program. One (1) or more years as a crew lead/foreman\nTrack 2: Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and two-year related experience or training. Combination of education and experience must be four (4) years or greater\nTrack 3: Bachelors’ degree (AA) from four (4) year college or university\n\nPhysical Demands and Work Environment\n\nFrequently required to stand, walk, or sit\nContinually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity\nContinually required to talk/listen\nContinually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard\nOccasionally required to lift/push/carry items less than 25 pounds\n\n-\n\nThe above is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of this job.
