Location: New Hudson, MichiganWork Arrangement: Onsite preferred | Hybrid possible based on project needsDuration: 6-week contract (possible extension based on workload)Start: ASAPWork Hours: Core hours 8:00 AM – 4:00 PMEligibility: U.S. Citizenship requiredPosition OverviewWe are seeking a Mid-Level Mechanical Designer with strong PTC Creo experience to support a fast-paced engineering team focused on 3D parametric design, large assembly packaging, and wire harness routing.This role is ideal for a designer with hands-on experience creating production-ready technical drawings, managing component clearances, and supporting prototype-to-production design releases in a structured product development environment.The ideal candidate brings strong experience in Creo Cabling, electrical harness routing, Windchill PLM, and ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop 3D parametric models and component designs using PTC CreoDesign and package wire harness routing, retention, clips, and attachment strategies in large assembliesAnalyze and maintain stationary and moving part clearancesCreate detailed technical drawings and release documentationApply GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards to production drawingsSupport prototype and production manufacturing methodsCollaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams to resolve design issuesMaintain organized CAD data, revisions, and documentation within Windchill PLMProvide occasional manufacturing floor support during prototype builds or design validationCommunicate design progress, risks, and technical updates clearly to stakeholdersRequired QualificationsAssociate degree in Mechanical Design or equivalent hands-on experience5+ years of Creo CAD design experienceStrong experience with Creo Cabling Tool for electrical harness and wire routingExperience working in Windchill PLMProven background in technical drawing creation, detailing, and GD&TWorking knowledge of prototype and production manufacturing processesStrong communication, documentation, and collaboration skillsComfortable working in a fast-paced engineering environment with shifting prioritiesHigh attention to detail and pride in producing accurate design workU.S. Citizenship requiredIdeal BackgroundCandidates with experience in any of the following environments will align especially well:Heavy equipmentAutomotive systemsDefense vehiclesAerospace assembliesIndustrial machineryElectromechanical productsLarge assembly design environmentsWhy This Role Stands OutThis is an excellent short-term opportunity for a Creo power user who enjoys hands-on design execution, harness packaging, and large assembly problem solving in a collaborative engineering setting.If your background includes Creo Cabling, Windchill, and production drawing release work, this role should be a strong match.
