Technician II
Technician II Lee County Solid Waste is looking for a highly skilled Technician II to join the team. In this position, you will help keep important landfill equipment and systems running safely and smoothly. This hands-on role includes maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and helping support daily operations that protect the environment and serve the community. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys hands-on work, likes solving problems, doesn't mind working outside, and wants to support important solid waste services in our community.Duties and Responsibilities What You'll DoPerform maintenance and repairs on electrical, mechanical, and automated systemsTroubleshoot pumps, control panels, motors, PLCs, VFDs, and other equipmentAssist superintendent with planning and budgeting for Capital Improvement and Major Maintenance projectsHelp maintain landfill systems, pump stations, leachate systems, landfill gas systems, and monitoring wellsInstall, test, and support equipment and control systemsPerform preventive maintenance on daily, weekly, monthly, and annual schedulesRespond to equipment problems and emergency repair needsAssist with equipment upgrades, projects, and facility improvementsRead blueprints, diagrams, and technical manuals to complete repairs and maintenance tasksUse hand tools, power tools, small machinery, and testing equipment safelyCreate and update work orders in the computerized maintenance systemDocument repairs, maintenance work, and completed tasks accuratelyHelp ensure equipment operates safely and follows environmental and safety regulationsWork independently and as part of a team with supervisors, engineers, contractors, and staffSupport safe and efficient operations at Lee County Solid Waste facilitiesPerform other related duties as assignedEducation, Experience, Licensing What We're Looking For Minimum Qualifications Any combination of education and experience equivalent to:A high school diploma or GED andTwo (2) years of facilities maintenance experience to include:Industrial maintenanceElectrical or mechanical maintenanceWastewater or water treatment plant operationsLandfill, solid waste, or environmental systems workPump station maintenanceAutomation or controls technician workUtility systems maintenanceField service technician workStrong attention to detail and good time management skillsExperience operating hand tools and power toolsExperience reading blueprints, diagrams, and technical manualsLicensing RequirementsValid Florida driver's license with an acceptable driving recordPreferred QualificationsFive (5) years of facilities maintenance experience to include:Landfill maintenanceDeep injection wellsLeachate collection systemsSupplemental Information Work ScheduleMonday through Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PMSaturday work may be required as neededAdditional hours may be required during emergenciesWhy Join Us?This is a hands-on role where your work directly supports the health and safety of Lee County residents.
