The ideal candidate is technically adept and innovative, with strong problem-solving skills. They should have a comprehensive understanding of control systems, including PLCs, SCADA, and HMI technologies, and be capable of working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.In this role, the individual will develop control schemes, conduct system testing and validation, troubleshoot and resolve system issues, and continuously improve existing processes. They must be adaptable, committed to continuous improvement, and ready to embrace rapid technological advancements in automation and control technologies.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and engineer machine and equipment software for control system modifications and upgrades with precision and minimal disruption to manufacturing operationsConduct system testing and validation through proactive monitoring of control system functionality, including trend data analysis and on-floor observation of machine uptime; partner with internal stakeholders to ensure corrective actions and documentation are completedAnalyze data from control systems to identify opportunities to improve process efficiencyMaintain and modify production machine programming systems and software (e.g., RSLogix, Wonderware, various drive programming packages) and coordinate with OEMs and support contractors to ensure proper version controlTroubleshoot and optimize existing control systemsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirementsPrepare and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and operation manualsSupport the development and execution of a Planned Maintenance Program, including recurring inspections, PM tasks, and work instructions focused on control systemsAssist facility maintenance with ongoing operation and maintenance of plant utilities and servicesParticipate in commissioning and startup of new equipmentMaintain organized project files and keep equipment documentation up to dateCollaborate with vendors and suppliers for equipment and software procurementEnsure compliance with industry standards and safety regulationsSupport manufacturing goals related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and CostParticipate in safety incident investigations and support implementation of corrective actionsWork with operations and process engineering to identify opportunities for new technologies that improve quality, reduce variation, and increase throughputContribute to Continuous Improvement initiatives, including kaizen eventsAssist maintenance teams in troubleshooting and resolving electrical and controls-related equipment issuesProvide technical support and training to other departments as neededTrain personnel on the operation and use of control systemsScopeDecision Impact: FacilityDepartment: EngineeringWork Environment: Manufacturing environment; significant time spent on the production floor.
