We are seeking a passionate and motivated individual to work closely with our experienced professionals, contribute to impactful projects, and gain valuable skills to build a successful career. They will receive real world professional sports experience writing, editing and publishing content for the club's various communications platforms. Tasks will include assisting with the day-to-day operations of the department as it serves as the new bureau and media conduit for the club.\n\nWhat will you do?\nGeneral department support including daily clips execution and administrative duties\nComposing and editing press releases\nProduce a variety of content over the club’s digital platforms\nWrite, edit and post articles for the team website\nGather quotes from players and coaches\nSit in on practice, game and other press conferences and transcribe quotes following\nResearch and organize stats before and after games\nBuild and edit match notes\nAssist with media responsibilities and daily promotion of the organizational brand\nAssist in the development of the team media guide\nWrite, edit, update and post player bios\nOther duties as assigned\n\nWhat do you need to succeed?\n Required\nSuperior writing, editing, proofreading and communication skills including proficiency in AP style supported by at least two writing samples.\nInterested in pursuing a career in sports journalism\nDemonstrated writing and grammar proficiency\nAbility to maintain a high level of professionalism within a professional sports environment and in media work zones\nExcellent interpersonal and customer service skills\nDetail-oriented\nFamiliarity with sports communication, preferably soccer-specific\nDemonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment\nAvailability to occasionally work long hours and handle some light physical activity\nExperience with InDesign, HootSuite and/or Sprout Social a plus\n\n Special requirements of the Job:\nMust be able to work a flexible schedule, inclusive of weekends, nights (event evenings & overnight operation shifts) and holidays.\nAbility to monitor company communications and respond to time-sensitive matters with senior executives.\nAbility to work outdoors continuously for extended periods of time in all weather conditions\n\nWe value diversity and seek world-class employees of all backgrounds.
