This position will be located between the Minnesota Mine Sites. The primary responsibility of this position will be to develop and implement site wide structural steel management plans to include assessments, prioritization, and management plans.\n\nSummary of Responsibilities\n\nManage structural engineering projects from concept, design, calculations, material specifications, drawings, cost estimates, contractor management, to installation\n\nEnsure contract work is documented properly with specifications and work scopes, coordinate within operational needs and completed safely\n\nDirect and coordinate work performed by engineering consultants and contractors\n\nDirect and coordinate work performed by operating employees as required for new equipment installation or testing to ensure conformity to engineering design and specifications\n\nProvide structural assessments to management, engineers, and mechanical crafts people on as needed basis\n\nConduct studies and prepare reports on project cost projections and potential cost-saving projects\n\nEvaluate structures and provide recommendations regarding condition and risk mitigation\n\nDevelop and maintain a rolling five-year capital and maintenance plan for the facility\n\nPromote and support a strong safety culture while ensuring all engineering activities comply with applicable safety standards and regulations\n\nProduce design and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD or Solidworks\n\nOther duties as assigned\n\nMinimum Requirements:\n\nBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; Structural Engineering emphasis preferred. Mechanical Engineering degree considered with demonstrated experience.\n\nAbility to obtain a Professional Engineering (PE) license in Minnesota.\n\nPrevious knowledge of project management and creation of work scopes\n\nPrevious project engineering experience.\n\nExperience with cost analysis and budgeting.\n\nAbility to plan and coordinate multiple work tasks with a variety of employees, departments and outside contractors .\n\nAble to set goals and develop strategies and schedules to accomplish goals.\n\nExcellent interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate, empower, and delegate .\n\nWilling to promote team concepts and enforce company policies fairly and consistently.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to interact with and communicate with all levels of the organization.\n\nAble to think logically using factual data and structure ideas to influence others; make sound, timely decisions under conditions of uncertainty and risk.\n\nAble to multi-task and work well under demanding conditions.\n\nPossess strong computer skills; Microsoft Office experience, Access experience, and AutoCAD/Solidworks experience; preference for individuals with computerized maintenance management system experience.\n\nCapable of working effectively and safely using a participative management style in a team environment.\n\nPreferred Requirements:\n\n2+ years of experience in mining or heavy industry.\n\nProject management experience.\n\nStructural inspections.\n\nStructural steel and reinforced concrete design experience.\n\nFamiliarity with AISC, ACI, and ASCE design standards.\n\nStructural analysis software.\n\nProfessional Engineering (PE) license in the state of Minnesota.\n\nPlease note that all applicants must meet the physical requirements of the position by the close of the posting period.\n\nThe salary range for this role is $80,000 - $105,000.
