Operating across Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Wyoming, Colorado, Oregon, and beyond, our companies are united by four core values — Value Safety, Embrace Ownership, Be Honorable, and Elevate Team — which guide how we work, how we treat each other, and how we deliver quality results on some of the most challenging projects in the region.\n\nRoles and Responsibilities:\n\nIncluding but not limited to the list below.\n\nComply with all safety policies, procedures, and standards of safety.\nVerify the types of materials being transported and ensure that they do not exceed weight restrictions.\nEnsure that materials are loaded correctly onto the truck and trailer.\nPerform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks pursuant to DOT regulations.\nMaintain the vehicle to ensure safe operating conditions, including daily inspections of tires, lights, signals, glass, etc. Vehicle fluids and tire air pressures must be checked and serviced daily.\nObserve all traffic laws.\nEnsure the vehicle is ready for the next day’s business, including fuel fills, whenever possible.\nShow constant awareness of personal safety and the safety of all co-workers and surroundings.\nSafely transport various construction aggregate materials to various job sites as dispatched.\nOperate dump trucks equipped with different trailer combinations such as side-dumps, end-dumps, and flatbed trailers.\nClean out trailer beds to prevent cross-contamination.\nBe flexible with schedule and location changes, as well as shift time changes.\nOther duties and responsibilities may be assigned by supervisors.\n\nSkills and Qualifications:\n\nHigh School Diploma or GED preferred. Any vocational training is strongly desired.\nThose with an education and/or work-related credential from a secondary or post-secondary educational system will be given preferred interview status (Precision Exams, NOCTE, etc.).\nMust hold a Class A CDL.\nAbility to operate construction transport vehicles such as water trucks, dump trucks, side dumps, belly dumps, and flatbeds.\nMust hold a valid Medical Card per Department of Transportation (DOT) standards.\nA clean driving record is required.\nMust abide by all DOT requirements for commercial motor vehicle operations.\nMust follow verbal and written instructions.\nMust have maneuvering and backing skills.\nMust maintain accurate time and material records through driver’s daily logs.\nAbility to operate the truck safely and efficiently.\nWillingness to learn.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out the essential functions of the job.\nAbility to work effectively in a team environment.\nReliable transportation to get to and from work.\n\nPhysical Requirements:\n\nAble and willing to work long hours including day, night, and weekend shifts as needed, and work outside of normal hours.\nAble to sit, walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.\nAble to work in outside environments being subjected to weather changes, noise, vibrations, moving mechanical parts, and job hazards.\nAbility to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks.\n\nWhitaker Construction offers an exceptional benefits package including:\n\nEmployee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
