This role contributes across the entire software development lifecycle, building both front-end and back-end solutions.\nThe ideal candidate is comfortable working in an Agile environment, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and is passionate about building secure, scalable, and maintainable software.\nRequirements:\nDuties/Responsibilities:\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain full-stack applications spanning a React-based frontend and a Python service layer.\nDesign and implement secure RESTful APIs, including request/response validation, consistent error handling, and generated API documentation.\nModel and evolve relational data (schema design, indexing, and migrations) and write efficient queries against it.\nImplement authentication and authorization flows, enforcing role-based access consistently at the API boundary.\nPackage applications and their dependencies as containers for consistent local development, test, and deployment.\nInstrument services with structured logging, metrics, and traces to support troubleshooting and performance analysis in production.\nParticipate in software architecture and design discussions, weighing tradeoffs among performance, security, and maintainability.\nWrite and maintain unit, integration, and system tests; contribute to automated test coverage in CI.\nParticipate in peer code reviews, both giving and incorporating substantive feedback.\nTroubleshoot defects and resolve production issues across the full stack.\nInterpret customer requirements and translate them into technical solutions.\nCollaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle.\nSupport software deployments and continuous improvement initiatives.\nMaintain technical documentation related to software design, APIs, and deployment.\nSkills\nProfessional Python development building web APIs with FastAPI or a comparable framework (Flask, Django REST, Starlette).\nFrontend development with React (component composition, hooks, and client-side state management) using modern build tooling (Vite, Webpack, or similar).\nWorking proficiency with PostgreSQL or another relational database: writing non-trivial SQL, designing normalized schemas, and reasoning about query performance.\nAbility to containerize applications with Docker/Docker Compose, including authoring Dockerfiles/compose files, orchestrating multi-service local environments, and debugging container and networking issues.\nFamiliarity with Git or other version control systems.\nUnderstanding of software development best practices and Agile methodologies.\nFamiliarity with Linux operating systems.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nEducation & Experience\nActive Secret or Top-Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility. A Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position.
